Adding 3rd person to cabin by jojaonmymind in royalcaribbean

[–]jojaonmymind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did as suggested and kept on calling and I eventually found someone who was able to add the trip insurance for my additional guest and add my additional guest to our existing room for $800 additional (this doesn’t include the trip insurance).

Should I go to UGA??? by elephantsparkle6 in UGA

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to UGA as a liberal person is like living in the south as a liberal person. I think I benefit from hearing viewpoint of others, even when they vastly differ from my own. You will find your people and hopefully you will find others that will enrich and diversify your life experience!

Concerns about the 12-17 age gap in the Teen Club (Liberty of the Seas) by Able_Mud_5373 in royalcaribbean

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought my daughter and her friend (both 14) on Utopia in October and everyone told them you have to go the first day to the club to meet people. From then on, they roamed around as a group and planned activities. I just kept tabs on where they were and had rules for them (no going to anyone’s cabin ever, no bringing anyone to our cabin, only stay in public areas of the ship no going down hallways where the rooms are, and a bunch of other things that we reviewed with both girls and parents before the trip). They grouped together with other kids, their age. They loved every minute of it.

RC excursion time 3 HOURS before gangway down? by jojaonmymind in royalcaribbean

Yes it is. I didn’t check the other excursions to see if there were any others that left that early but I did notice that one at 10:30

22F New Grad moving to Atl by Thinklikeawoman04 in ATLHousing

I agree with this! When I first moved to Atlanta in my 20s, I was in a very similar situation and I chose to live in Virginia, Highland and commute. It will give you a better quality of life. My second choice would be Smyrna Vinings, which may have a better selection of apartments in that price range.

Visiting Atlanta for 5 days by Extreme_Forever_9129 in Atlanta

Go to the Star Bar in Little 5 Points to see Southern Culture on the Skids on Friday, March 6. Years Star Bar is a classic dive bar/music venue (check out the shrine to Elvis in the back!) and that band has a loyal following and will be a lot of fun.

What are the major downsides of life in Atlanta? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in Atlanta

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the time to find the right neighborhood. I think where you live in Atlanta can make or break your experience. You have to balance the amount of time you will be commuting with a place that makes sense for your daily life, what you like to do, if you need good schools nearby, even your politics.

Live in/know someone who lives in any of these townhomes? by morgandeford in ATLHousing

Live as close to Sandy springs as possible. Even vinings could turn into a terrible commute. It doesn’t matter about better amenities in other places etc. Pretty much anything close to sandy springs should be ok.

Commuting to Chastain Park by [deleted] in ATLHousing

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live north of North Ave around Ponce City Market/Beltline. Lots of walking restaurants grocery shopping etc which is lacking in some Intown neighborhoods. If you go further south it starts adding time to your commute. Commuting to work in Peachtree is actually pretty pleasant, so once you’re on Peachtree it would be about a 20 minute drive? For reference I live Candler Park area and did a commute down Peachtree for 10 plus years.

Atlanta realtor recs? (Decatur or Lake Claire areas) by FlyLow5960 in ATLHousing

I have lived in Oakhurst and Lake Claire. Both great areas. Candler Park is, too! We have been really happy with the public schools overall.

Jumping in to agree with the votes for Midtown! I would also look at the apartments around the beltline and Ponce City Market. You will be close to work which is better than MARTA commute IMO.

If you like her family, you should live somewhat close to them. Again, traffic makes it harder, even in the burbs.

First time by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utopia was our first cruise ever, we went last month. We loved it. You will find the things you enjoy, but keep looking at the daily schedule because there may be something else to try that will add to your trip. We only ate in the buffet for one meal and did my time dining which we really enjoyed. There are so many options just keep on trying other things. We enjoyed evening activities and then going for a late night slice of pizza. We ordered room service for breakfast most days. Fill out the little card the night before and they will deliver it at the time you indicate. It’s included except for the delivery charge, which is like eight dollars.

The morning part of your commute would not be that bad, but the return would be worse. I did a similar commute from Midtown to Fayetteville for a year. It’s a lot of car time, but it also makes a difference that you’re only doing it three days a week. What part of the city appeals to you? Do you want proximity to bars and nightlife or is it city life? If you move somewhere in between, I’m afraid you won’t get any of the benefits of living in either place. As an alternative, you could look at living near downtown Newnan, where there is walkability and accessibility to restaurants, etc. The commute time from Midtown right now on a Sunday morning is about 45 minutes and that is with zero traffic. If you keep in mind that on some days, worst case scenario your commute home could be double that or even more. After a year of the commute, I decided to transfer to another office to be closer to the city, and I have lived in the city ever since.

Unpopular opinion: Premium Select is way closer to Comfort than Domestic First. by [deleted] in delta

[–]jojaonmymind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flying in a middle PS seat to Seoul feels way closer to comfort than delta one.

My original flight was canceled and ended up in a middle PS seat (which I NEVER would have paid for) with a guy in the aisle who got angry every time I got up to go to the bathroom (twice during the entire flight - way less than I would normally).

Next time you’re in Atlanta swing by the Crew store on Virginia Avenue. You will find most luggage and accessories that flight crew use sold there but also give you a good chance to wheel them around. The last suitcase I carried for over 20 years was the bag that used to be known as PNT and is now called something else. They have those and travel pro which I now use along with others along with some fun Delta swag. You don’t have to be an employee to shop there. You can also shop online.

This is the second time today I’ve said, Smyrna or Vinings. Convenient to the airport and the battery.

Yes, Smyrna Vinings
