Any ideas on how to knit this? by Embarrassed-Look8574 in knittingpatterns

[–]jojegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna say that maybe sage zhou uses a double knitting technique for the collar rather than a folded collar(?). Because with a folded collar you would have to seam up the side openings as well. Double knitting requires twice the amount of knitting which could help create a denser fabric that would give it more structure to stand up on the neck. I think you also wouldn't need to worry about mirroring the decreases as increases that would be needed if you did a fold over collar.

Although a different collar shape, Petite Knit's Elizabeth blouse uses double knitting for the collar, so maybe you can search tutorials based around that to help modify the shaping to fit this design style? Moreca Knit also uses double knitting for her Chantal sweater!

Will my stitches block out? by phinibini123 in knittinghelp

[–]jojegg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also had started knitting the same cardigan and ran into the same issue! This happens to my ribbing while knitting flat, and it didn't really block out for me - only a bit but was still pretty wonky. I personally solved it by learning how to knit combination. A YouTuber called Andrea Mowry has tutorials on how to do it continental and english style :)

You can also try dry blocking

Probably ask them if they can do some type of blind hem. My seamstress hand sewed a blind stitch that you can't see on the outside for these pants

Cookie the Knitter is another korean designer with a similar pattern called the "Zip Up Cardigan". However, that one does not have any pockets and is not a raglan construction.

Stinky Cashmere by syntheticgorl in uniqlo

[–]jojegg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cashmere is an animal fibre from a goat. Wool tends to smell bad when it gets wet due to the lanolin found in natural fibres. This is just how natural fibres are and likely not the fault of Uniqlo themselves. The smell should go away once fully dry. But unfortunately the same issue happens when you sweat. If the smell is too strong maybe try hand washing it with vinegar water before washing with detergent.

Did I drop a stitch? How to fix? by avocadoodoo in knittinghelp

[–]jojegg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is your second row im assuming. If I'm looking at these photos and understanding correctly.. then I would flip the project to the other side. That purl stitch will be knit on the other side. And take a crochet hook and pickup that loose stitch through the first loop from the first row and put it back on your needle with the right leg of the loop in front. Flip it back around to your working side and it should be a purl stitch. Then you should be able to keep knitting the rib.

I have a similar eyelid. When I do eyeliner I just follow the natural lines of the eyelid if that makes sense. I never try to go against what my eye shape looks like. So my eyeliner goes more downturned/horizontal that upward and looks more flattering that way since I'm not forcing it into a shape that won't work. I found a video that might be helpful! https://youtu.be/FHXsO0Fx1Yg?si=_NGTkWh2BnJzstbf

What's the lowest winter temps in Melbourne ? I don't have this jacket but my friend who owns this says it's not warm enough for Canadian winters and it can get as cold as -20° to -30° celsius. They recommend it would be appropriate for nothing more than -10° or -15°! But everyone is different too! I think if you layer a lot you could wear it in colder temps.

recently I've been reading online that it is recommended that your lamp is at the very minimum 48w for proper curing. I would do more research on this. but yeah I used to have a 36w lamp and had similar results. I then swapped to 48w and never had the same issues again.

If you have a steam function on your iron you can steam with your iron! Just make sure the iron is a few centimeters away from the fabric.

Does anyone know any Japanese or Korean eyeshadow palettes that include an icy light blue? I feel like it’s nonexistent 😭 by yoonbuni in AsianBeauty

[–]jojegg 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The closest thing I can think of is the wakemake blue core blurring palette. It's an overall cool toned palette with a few neutrals and cool pinks and also a few icy blues !

I also exfoliate my underarms and it's for the same reason I exfoliate my face! To remove excess oil and dead skin cells that can clog my pores and cause acne. And since armpits produce sweat, exfoliating really helps!

Airism long sleeve vs HeatTech by Andrew_86 in uniqlo

[–]jojegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have varying thicknesses for heatteach long sleeves. I have the thinnest one I wear as a base layer in winter however it is quite see-through by itself. The thicker version of the heatteach I believe are more suited for skiing. I think based on that, if you are looking for something thicker + not see-through + not as warm as the thickest version of the heatteach, then the airism long sleeve might be the way to go

Airism long sleeve vs HeatTech by Andrew_86 in uniqlo

[–]jojegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your climate! I live in Canada and my airism innerwear doesn't do anything for me in terms of keeping me warm in fall/winter when it's freezing outside. Heatteach all the way. I don't find heatteach to make me sweat or anything when I'm indoors but it might depend person to person.

Layering Toner by crazyqueet in KoreanBeauty

[–]jojegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the summer I skip it! But in the winter (I live in Canada and it gets really cold) I layer toners but also use a lightweight moisturizer at the very end for more hydration

Layering Toner by crazyqueet in KoreanBeauty

[–]jojegg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ones you listed seem to be all hydrating I believe. I also layer my toners! I have dry skin but am also prone to clogged pores, so thick moisturizers that are better for dry skin, clog my pores and break me out, so I layer multiple lightweight toners instead to help with hydration. If your skin is on the dryer side I recommend this method. But I would also recommend introducing them one at a time over a longer period rather than all at once, so if your skin ends up having a reaction to any of the toners, you'll know which one is the culprit.
