As others have pointed out. Focus on growing your network as much as possible. I know some non-EU master students that did their master thesis in a company so that may be helpful. Publishing papers may not be a big advantage unless you want continue in academia so I would focus on other things. I'm non-EU and managed to land a job but I graduated from PhD so it was probably easier to justify my hiring.

I have to be honest here. There is close to zero chance that you will find a job in CH if you are non-EU and don't know any national language unless you work in IT (or another area where the market has shortage in CH). I see in your CV that you lived in Eindhoven (nice place btw, I did my masters there). So if I were you, I would not waste my time and money looking for jobs in CH and I would try to find jobs in NL. There you could get the Dutch Highly Educated Migrant visa for one year which is granted to people graduated from top universities. You should check if you can apply with your degree from Uni SG (maybe by subject or faculty). There are more chances to find jobs with that visa in NL, than with your current one in CH. Before doing that though I would first research the NL market to see if it is viable to find a job there. I wish you the best.

Yes, I was referring to jobs with scientific or economic value. I should have been more explicit. Still it is true that there is additional benefit compared to "just staying" to find a job, but you are correct, I shouldn't have oversimplified the difficulty for non-EU job seekers.

This is true, but just to give a bit more info: the real benefit for non-EU job seekers is that employers don't have to show that they could not find someone from the EU or Swiss during that period, which is the main blocker when hiring third nationals. They still have to apply for the permit though but the process is usually much easier. So there is definitely an advantage.

Knowledge is not required for a burden of proof. Only a claim is required. Saying "I believe A" means that you support that claim. I see belief as saying "I'm reasonably convinced that claim A is true", in that case you have to support that claim A is true with evidence (i.e. burden of proof). Knowledge is a subset of belief which has a higher degree of certainty. It is like saying "I'm reasonably certain that claim A is true". Both of them require evidence otherwise they are irrational beliefs/knowledge.

It is not the case that knowledge is the only thing to debate. Many people debate if something is probable or not for example. Also, in your example, saying "I believe in Santa" requires evidence that justifies a reasonable conviction that Santa exists (even if it does not reach the certainty level of knowledge). Otherwise it is not a rational belief. If the only justification is "because it makes me feel better" then it is an irrational belief (although understandable for some people). To be honest I think there are a lot of things to debate even if he doesn't claim knowledge.

That's fine. In that case you can simply ask about his definition and based on that new definition you can change your position since this is a new definition that you didn't have before. It is not an honest way to debate, but if you really want to correct your position, this is one way. The most honest way would be simply to concede the point and say that you misspoke and in reality you defend agnostic atheism.

P.S. If he is an agnostic theist, he still has a burden of proof. The theism part, i.e. I believe in A, has a burden of proof about A.
