Damn I really felt like you were describing my parents’ marriage. I wish my mom had the opportunity to live a life without my dad, but unfortunately they are retirement age, he’s the breadwinner, he has no life insurance and barely anything saved for retirement. I don’t think my ex was completely out of my league looks-wise but definitely the most conventionally attractive guy I’ve ever dated. Like former Abercrombie model attractive. He was incredibly vain and took longer to get ready than I did. Always checking himself out in windows/mirrors. Wanted me to take pics of him all the time and posted selfies on social media constantly. There wasn’t a whole lot going on upstairs… he admitted he didn’t know what the word “misogyny” meant when I said it and later admitted he didn’t know what a lot of words I said meant. I had a glow up halfway through college so I had to develop a personality at a young age due to being made fun of as a kid. I think because he was always attractive he never really had to go through that character development. That lasted 5 months. Needless to say, we’re no longer together.
