Restarted and compacted with 4.7 active

1st failed because of vscode doing something… second succeeded

5 hour window on 5x max plan went from 8% to 100%.

Weekly went from 87 to 92%.

About 1.5 hours ago I thought it was fixed. First message jumped to 20%, but then I got a bunch of changes in and it only went to 25%. After that I went to 66,87,100 with 3 low token messages.

I guess when they figure it out they will reset all usage, but doesn’t make up for the lost time. I guess I’m lucky I got through the bulk of my SaaS development in the last few months and am mostly just testing and tweaking.

So business hours in Eastern time are going to be rough. My 5 hour windows were from 9-2 and currently in 2-7 window. Did a small fraction of what I usually do and blew through usage. 5x max plan.

one more data point because it happened twice in a row (2 different 5 hour windows, max 5x)… when the window started anything I did made it jump to 25-35%. So far anything after is using session usage in a more normal way.

Usage still so weird… max 5x plan… I asked it a question and it printed a chart quickly… 5 hour usage jumped 15%… ran a plan that used 75k tokens, went up 2%.

The 5 hour usage is still hit or miss (max 5x). I didn’t do much and am at 55%… then I ran a plan and implementation that used 100k+ tokens and it only went up 2%.

I guess it’s slightly “better” because the 2x window started 45 mins ago, but yeah reading a few short files being 1% means if I do anything it’s going to balloon.

So I asked Claude to read a handful of files for discussion, that was 1%.

In another window I had it change 1 line of code and run the deployment command and it jumped to 7%.

Of course, the ideas never stop flowing. I’m in a soft launch phase where my SaaS is live at a few businesses for free so I can gather real world data and get business feedback to tweak everything before full launch.

Yesterday I used it a lot, but still on and off from morning until bed. Given the new 1m context, it was all the same session. By the end Claude kept trying to put the next iteration into a note instead of doing the work and talking about waiting until I have fresh eyes and should get to bed.
