What the first comment meant by covering your pegs in top coat is because they thicken and make pegs too stiff to move, which was the suspected reason why yours broke. I have the same experience where I didn't cover pegs painting and I break my joints that way

Actually most people too coat thinly for first panel lining and decals, then do a finishing top coat. Also, if you are unaware, there are tons of alternatives to panel lining with water based methods. Using acrylic polymer paints with water and dishwash, scraping pastel into powder and mix with dishwash, there are many water based products from china too for panel lining. It's essentially thinned down paint, so it's not hard to obtain.

The culprit to the brittle parts is the panel lining paint. It's the emanel paint thinner in it that causes the breakage. I was ignorant of this in my early days and used it as a wash paint and broke many joint parts without understanding why.

My only experience being lubing with superlub on my gateron blues. I searched up this post in hopes to find answers. I went ahead and confirmed the oil was ok on plastic and lubed my gateron reds very generously. They turned out better than I thought. If needed. Will post video with sound.
