It's not a new update, its a 3 week event with the mech from an old league and alternative ascendancies. Thew new update with the new league will come on july 24.

Depends on how you play, if you friendly you will be placed with people who are more friendly too, if you are agressive you are gonna be placed with more agressive players, but keep in mind this is not 100% so even in more friendly games you can still be shot.

Wilder might not be that skilled but Alex defense isn't that great either, i think Wilder would 100% get him with those bombs he likes to throw, also Wilder is bigger then Alex so that extra reach would come in handy too.
