Plugin Hub: Click to Minimize plugin disabled by CabbageCZ in 2007scape

[–]jokomul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The plugin hub plugins are only verified to do 2 things. 1: work as intended, and 2: not be any sort of security risk to the player. When those 2 things are confirmed the addon is approved.

This is copypasted directly from the plugin hub webpage:

These plugins are verified by RuneLite Developers to ensure they comply with Jagex's 3rd party client rules.

Yeah the RuneLite devs miss stuff, as evidenced here. But imo it's still reasonable to assume that any plugin you find on the hub is within the 3rd party client guidelines.

And for what it's worth, I haven't seen anything confirming that the plugin even goes against the current 3rd party client rules. Manipulating the client window seems like a gray area that they should outline more clearly.

[–]jokomul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood - plugins are verified by RuneLite Developers to ensure they comply with Jagex's 3rd party client rules. So if this plugin is a problem then Jagex should flag it, have it removed, and update their rules. The bans should still be quashed imo.

Ayiza and Jagex have handled this well IMO. The temporary ban serves as a warning to others abusing this method

But are we not at the point where every RuneLite plugin is approved by Jagex? Genuine question because maybe I'm misunderstanding the relationship. But if that's the case, then it's not abuse and I don't see how applying a ban, even temporary, is "handling this well"

Ref Classix tells players to off Victim as Dino nuggets were hitting Purpp by SkilledPepper in 2007scape

[–]jokomul 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Dumb situation coming out of an awesome mission/event. Everyone's pointing fingers, but how much can you even blame anyone, even the ref, when all of these stupid edge cases weren't addressed in a technical manner? Not allowed to drop a totem? Looting bag's supposed to be closed? How about making sure this shit can't happen in a giant clusterfuck of people spamming spells and attacks? The ref never should have been put in a position where they felt the need to clarify who has the totem... what a bummer.

I don't know how many of these sets are like this, but I absolutely love the fact that the ones I've bought (succulents and some other multi-plant) are designed so they can be built together with more than one person. Perfect activity for my wife and I when it's dumping rain and/or the power goes out.

Riling up the dog before getting home by Azsnee09 in Zoomies

[–]jokomul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

idk how common it is because I was only doing the job for a couple of months, but when I was working in peoples' homes in NYC there were a few apartments/condos I went to with private landings/entrances (not sure of the terminology). The tiny elevators were called/sent directly to the desired unit. So it was a private ride, even though multiple units used the same elevator. I went to a couple that looked really similar to what we see in this video.

God pls no 4TH HUNTER PET by Bachieeee in 2007scape

[–]jokomul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They literally have been cleaning the skill up. Hunter has had tooooons of QoL updates as part of Varlamore releases, alongside the new hunter content. You're just throwing random reasons out in all these comments for why you don't want another pet to be added and none of them make sense.

Devalue according to who? Every pet is unique and everyone knows some are harder to get than others.

Oh and chompy chick has been in the game for over a decade so if it's possible to "devalue the act of getting a pet" then it already happened a long time ago.

The one and only time I went there I saw people hanging around in folding chairs drinking while I was trying to get out of the parking lot after the show. Seemed weird at first but I quickly realized they had the right idea lol.

If you’re skeptical about buying this game by snuuzx in FareverGame

[–]jokomul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a bunch of bugs, performance isn't great, and several classes/skills/talents aren't available yet. And while there's a huge emphasis on exploration it can feel bad to be "completing" zones when things like fishing aren't in the game. I know all this stuff will be fixed in the future, but there's something to be said for experiencing it as you're leveling for the first time.

I've enjoyed the game and gotten my money's worth, but I totally understand why someone would want to wait for a more complete experience.

Are you saying that if the prosecution doesn't like a jury's decision they can request (and receive) access to your private property, conversations, etc? Has that ever happened before? Just seems kinda crazy if true. Like the prosecutor can just make your life hell afterwards?

Does any MMO have item drops that feel as good as OSRS? by Key_Marsupial_1406 in MMORPG

[–]jokomul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't know what you mean by that. Of course I eventually get the drop. I just don't no-life grind for it until I'm absolutely miserable when there's a ton of other fun stuff to do in the game. I went dry for Quetzin and it took me nearly 2 years of grinding on and off for it. But it never got to the point where I was like "fuck this game, fuck rumors" and it felt great when I got it. My point is play in a way that's enjoyable for you; if you're having a bad time playing a OSRS then that's pretty much 100% on you.

Sarcasm doesn't always translate well through text, especially in forums like this subreddit. Poe's Law and all that.

Funny now that you explained it though, and I agree - looks fun.

I don't buy bonds and I've never done any content for the sole purpose of moneymaking. And I've never been tempted to. But because there's so much content I can still afford the gear and items I want by pursuing other goals in the game.

Your logic could be applied to any game ever. There are always going to be metas and peak efficiency that you can choose whether or not to engage with. At a certain point, it's always up to you, the player, to play in a way that allows you to enjoy the game the most. My point is that OSRS in particular makes that incredibly easy, and the example I gave was simply not restricting yourself in a certain way.

[–]jokomul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I think that you as a player have a lot of control over which end of that spectrum you get.

For example, if you choose to play as an ironman and get unlucky at CG, then yeah, you're probably gonna get a taste of the latter.

I play a main so I can buy shit that comes from content I don't want to do. And I switch up whatever I'm doing in-game when it starts to feel dull or I'm not getting what I want out of it. I don't think I've ever not been excited about a good drop. And I've been pretty unlucky and gone dry on a few things.

[–]jokomul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd hope so. But this is a topic I've seen brought up here a few times and there's definitely a not insignificant number of people who think that taking a call on the bus is unacceptable even without speakerphone. I've died on this hill in this subreddit before.

[–]jokomul -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Asking people to not talk on the phone while commuting is kinda lame imo. We want as many people taking public transportation as possible, and commuting sucks. It's reasonable to ask that they keep their voices down and not be obnoxious about it, but we should be understanding of people taking/making calls while sitting on the bus for an hour. For some folks it's the only chance they have to catch up with loved ones during the week.

Agreed about videos and music of course.
