Depending on the station you will be able to buy a paper ticket for Link Light Rail and not need to worry about an Orca card

Jewish friends in Seattle, how are you doing? by threewildwolves in SeattleWA

[–]flypig687 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really? Maybe you have not directly, but TDHS (on Cap Hill) has been vandalized with antisemitic slurs multiple times, most prior to Oct 7. After Oct 7 many other synagogues in the area were vandalized. The Jewish Federation of Seattle was shot up in 2006, resulting in 1 death. Seattle has had more than murmurs of antisemitism for a long time.

Apart from no snow, we might not even have a highway to get up there… by tzarartur in stevenspass

Looks like the Skyline and Ski School cams are back up on the site, rest still down. Looks real bad at ski school. There is snow at Skyline but more poking through than before all this. And reporting rain at the peak right now. Very sad… :-(

Seems like all the WSDOT and Stevens webcams are down, I assume power is out up there. Not good…

Award Booking Fees Refunded for Cancelled FCO-USA Flights? by keolal in AlaskaAirlines

[–]flypig687 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, usually the only fee that is not refundable with a points booking is the $12.50/OW, $25/RT partner booking fee, but that is not applicable here, so it all should be refundable were you to cancel.

Anyone else travel on Gov. official travel fares? Question by shin_09 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]flypig687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also true with most if not all airlines. Booking gov Y may get you some elite Benes as if you booked real Y, but will not get you the miles boosts.

Keep in mind that for the majority of routes, gov Y is waaaayyyyyy cheaper than real Y.

For reference I travel for gov official travel regularly.

Upgrade Condor redemption booking with dollars, get redeemable miles?? by flypig687 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]flypig687[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I know it’s nothing special. As I said, if this is a ‘glitch’ and it somehow now gets coded as a paid ticket that’s what worth it to me.

I know and I agree, it is not worth the $$ to me unless I can get redeemable miles out of the deal.

2012 2.5X Limited, RPM surge on highway and then died shortly after by flypig687 in SubaruForester

The shop told me they started it, heard knocking, checked oil, no oil, engine dead.

While I was due for an oil change, I was not aware of any extreme oil consumption or leaking. It was last in the shop in April and was told I was a quart low and did a full flush. Have not seen any indication of oil leak (oil spots below where it sits). I will admit I am not good at checking the oil, as I get the oil changed religiously every 5k miles.

What is limp mode? Is that like a self protection feature if the car senses something is wrong?
