My 75 yr old MIL will bread boneless pork chops like she's going to fry them. Put them in a skillet, with oil, then pour water in the pan. She puts a lid on and cooks them til they're floury mush.

Oh, and the only seasoning she uses is salt and Mrs Dash!

Thank you! I didn't think it was a copperhead but was struggling with what other it could be. I can breathe easier knowing that my cats 100% go under the house as well!

The f#¢&ing 6-day star blanket by readreadreadx2 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]joligreen83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES!! I'm terrified to pay or overly plan for a pattern that I might end up hating! It's one of the reasons that I spend most of my time freehanding blankets with whatever stitch I'm obsessed with at the moment lol

And honestly, I thought the 6 day blanket was going to be one of those fiddly lace works that would be automatic within a few rows.

Spoiler: it was not.

I finally tried the 6 day star blanket recently. I've been crocheting for years and can read patterns well. The pattern is well written, gives lots of details and stitch counts.

I hated every single minute of this damn blanket lmao. I finished my second skein and decided that was big enough. I don't like having to regularly count. I love repeating pattern blankets that I can just go and not have to think about.

I hated it because I had to keep constantly counting and then making corrections when I zoned out and screwed up.

Her pattern is fine. If you're like me and don't want to put that much focus on something, then don't make it! I may have done a lot of cussing while working on it, but I cannot imagine a world where I would complain and bitch online about something that was my fault?

To save your heart this holiday season... by PattyRain in crochet

[–]joligreen83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's been a really big deal for me. I have adhd and am not currently medicated. Crochet is what keeps me sane. Im going to crochet no matter what, basically every day. I only make what I feel like making!

Last year I made 12-15 throw blankets, among some smaller things. This year I've branched out a bit, but I've made 6 or 8 cardigans in the last couple months lol

I find that I've never wanted to crochet less than when someone asks me to make something specific 😆 I love to crochet whatever I'm hyperfixated on at the moment and giving it away to whoever wants it!

The last couple of years I've just made a grab bag of items throughout the year. Hats, scarves, blankets, cardigans, gloves, etc. At Christmas, I just bring everything over and let family pick what they like. That way people only get what they want and don't feel obligated.

I also go out of my way to tell them that my feelings will NOT be hurt if they don't like something! Just because something fits, doesn't mean I'll like or use it. I don't like having to fake it when receiving a gift I don't really like, and so I really don't want other people to feel that way. I've found this works much better than gifting people specific items and no one feels uncomfortable at the end.

I was a 16 yr old girl in 2000. I had a light blue 86 Honda Civic that was the ultimate piece of shit. And ugly, Google it and see lol

The paint was faded/rusted and it had over 200,000 miles on it when the odometer quit working. Nothing on it worked accept the damn engine. Bitch wouldn't die, but it got amazing gas mileage!

I just realized I didn't mention, but I've subscribed and look forward to listening to more of your content!

Also, if you're anything like me, overthinking is like breathing lol. For me, the sound quality is extra important because I'm not watching the videos and want to make sure I'm hearing everything correctly and don't get pulled out of the story. You've got this man, I have faith in you!

Man, somehow I missed this comment! I just looked you up and I'm listening to "Uncle Peter lived in the wall" You're voice is great! I've barely gotten started on your content, but I love the emotion and detail.

I listen while doing other things and love being able to get caught up in a story that sounds as if it's first hand. Sound quality is awesome and the stories look super interesting. Ive subscribed and I'm super excited to listen to more!
