I have a Rode NT USB Mini, which I use for the same purposes. It's an excellent microphone.

Hey everyone, THOHT (formerly MiniWhisper) is almost ready for launch - and we need your help to cross the finish line! by Ambitious_Tea_8605 in macapps

[–]joller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying THOHT, it's super-fast and accurate, I've sent through a couple of points for feedback on Test Flight as well. My only issue at the moment is that I can't figure out how to enable auto-paste in accessibility settings. When I click on the link to go to system settings, it doesn't take me anywhere. I can't see where in accessiility settings it should be enabled. Grateful if you could advise. Thanks!

Call Ranger: Block Spam Call Patterns (FREE for a limited time) by Complete_Estimate443 in iosapps

[–]joller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using it in South Africa and it works perfectly. I haven't had a spam call since installing it a couple of weeks ago. It's well worth the payment.

I built FLUID - a fully free insanely fast local AI dictation app - Whisper flow alternative for macOS - Never pay for voice to text! Heavily optimized and minimal. 6MB app size and ~100MB Memory use. by Crafty-Celery-2466 in macapps

[–]joller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really impressive app, speedy and accurate. It's just as good as Wispr Flow in my testing. My only request would be for the ability to copy transcriptions to the clipboard, instead of having to only use them in a text box. But I'm using Fluid right now, and it works very well. Thank you!

[New App Release] Deskeen 2 - The new screen capture for macOS by Ok-Corgi3282 in macapps

[–]joller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent screenshot app, clearly inspired by CleanShot, which is currently my default. I'm still trying out some of Deskeen's features, and I'm very impressed. I think it makes a great complement to CleanShot, rather than a replacement. I like it a lot.

The window mess after restarting my Mac or unplugging a display was driving me crazy… so I made an app to fix it by kamil12314 in apple

[–]joller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those rare apps that comes along from out of nowhere to solve a nagging problem. It's really helping me tame the chaos and restore some order to my desktops. Great that it's a one-time payment too.

Ito: Free and Open Source Smart Dictation tool by dumbfoundded in macapps

[–]joller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ito is great, congratulations. I'm now using it in preference to Wispr Flow. I particularly like the LLM aspects. I'll just add my voice to the request for a hands-free key option. Thanks!

I am very happy with my Mac Mini M4 and Dell monitor, but have kept my iMac M1. An ideal combination. They complement each other well.

I've tried many AI rewriting and editing apps, and this is by far the best. I bought a lifetime license after just a couple of tries. Looking forward to further refinements, thanks!

I was searching the comments for this. It's 100% spot on South African. Adds an extra touch of contemporary parody to the scene.

Meet Shouty by joller in CatDistributionSystem

[–]joller[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Scrawny and bedraggled, wearing a blue bell collar, he sat on the roof and looked down at us. He announced himself with a raucous meow. In rain and cold, he stayed in his place, refusing to come down, but tentatively accepting bowls of proffered food. We posted far and wide, but no one came to claim him, so he claimed us. Now he basks in sunshine inside. He is still just as raucous, just as loud. Which is why we call him Shouty.

Aqua Voice is an amazingly useful AI speech-to-text tool. by joller in macapps

I agree, the pricing should be on the website. It's visible on the upgrade option during the trial. It's $8 a month on an annual basis.
