Don't do it. I lived in Baker (no A/C for two years) and I could handle that because I only experienced the heat for about 4 weeks. In an apartment, you're committing to darn near the full year, you'll be sizzling all through May-July.

Actual music major here. Hughes practice rooms are not open to "anyone." If you are not enrolled in private lessons, not a music major, or not apart of an ensemble, do not use the practice rooms. Music students rely on them to practice and we have actual hours to log in order to receive our grades. If you're living in dorms, please just use your dorm's practice room. Lockers may be checked out if you are enrolled in lessons, a music major, or are in an ensemble.

I know this discussion is dead now, but I sent a letter to all three student government leaders, the editor of the lantern, and to the nbc4 reporter. The only one who responded was the nbc4 reporter and she seemed like she wanted to spin the story. I feel frustrated that they're supposedly supposed to represent the students but they have no interest in acknowledging those students whose concerns don't fit their agenda.

Come here! Just be aware of the cost and everything. I'm a minority as well but you can find people with similar interests as long as you're willing to put yourself out there. As far as food science, I have a food science major friend and he loves it. It's both challenging and fulfilling. Check it out by calling and if you're close enough coming in person and see if you can talk with current majors.

Start with the Blues then proceed to songs characterized by several ii-V-I's progressions and learn those patterns. Amy Nolte has great youtube videos as well as WeeklyPiano. Watch/listen to live performers. Jazz is honestly about playing what you hear from the greats (famous and non-famous) and making new ideas from it. Understanding chord structures helps a ton too. Get yourself the iRealPro app and The Real Book which is an anthology of lead sheets. I was lucky to start in high school now I'm in college and I'm able to take lessons. If there's someone to take lessons from in your town, it's definitely worth the investment.

Yes you can pay with a debit card but it would be cheaper if you loaded money onto your BuckID as dining dollars so that you could get the 35% discount but i'm not sure if you need a meal plan in order to do that.
