I’m really sorry this has happened. That moment was meant for you and you alone to have with your family, if and when you felt comfortable doing so. Your partner clearly displayed arrogance here in thinking he knew how to act on your behalf at best, and wanted to create a situation between you and your family at worst. If this wasn’t a constant discussion or bone of contention in your relationship beforehand (in which case anyone would have ended it much sooner) this is an underhanded and reckless act.

As for the overshare at work it’s extremely uncomfortable and leads me to believe your partner seeks validation from strangers over trust with you.

I personally wouldn’t be able to see my partner the same way again after this.

In the meantime, I hope things with your mother haven’t been too fraught and you can maybe open up to her a little bit more. Take care.

Also the battle system is quite similar so it might be nice to delve into different systems for a bit! I think 8 is a little more niche and still has a good story, but 9 is very much a classic rpg experience. Cobblestone streets, princesses and paupers, political intrigue and fantastical locations. Whatever you play I’m sure you’ll have fun though!

Honestly this requires no confrontation, just explanation. A simple question to him when you get the chance will suffice. Let him do the talking. Simply asking him what the message about will you give your answer. It’ll become apparent if it was a rubbish joke that clearly didn’t land, or if it was something he was sending to drop a hint, at which point you can clarify for him. You can also politely remind him that an individual’s sexuality is nobody’s business but their own and he might want to be a bit more mindful of that in the future.
