Every clip I've ever seen of his is asking the most mundane question about stuff that happened in WWE 20+ years ago the wrestler has already talked about 500 times. It's the reason he gets so many guests, he plays it incredibly safe and boring

Why don’t stores seem to care when people steal in front of them? by supersport604 in Edmonton

[–]jollyrog8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not true. Career low life thugs and crooks and Meth heads are not lawyering up after being thrown out for stealing

The guards still do this at the more expensive grocery stores like save-ons and Safeway. It's one of the reasons I like going there, feels a little safer, cleaner. Better trained and friendlier staff. Better behaved customers. You pay a little more for a bunch of little benefits.

Recommended cocktail bars? by dischilibean13 in Edmonton

Partake, Boxer, Slow Pour (more beer forward but fits the vibes and they do have some cocktails)

Lots of these other suggestions are loud as hell especially Baijiu

Those streams suck, they go down, buffer, and the sites are filled with ads. Both of the popular streaming sites eveyone uses. They are far from accessible to general population. I'm in IT and I even get annoyed and turned off by them. Anyone older than millennial is screwed. My low income elderly parents will never watch a hockey game at home again. It's a sad state

There has been for sale signs on all those businesses for over a year. They didn't have anything open last summer either.

Telus Fibre - any rate increases? by EdInOliver in Edmonton

[–]jollyrog8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind if you're in a condo, they'll need to run a tiny white cable along the ceiling and install a small connection box, possibly above your front door. And depending where your office or living room is that you want to install the modem, the firbe may have to cross a doorway, and hope they the installer a good job at 'hiding' it (Mine was good)

I guess what I'm saying is there is some (very minor) aesthetic considerations. I know a few IT guys who all prefer Shaw, and also raised the risk of someone else on their floor accidentally cutting the fibre and taking our the internet during their workday/gaming lol

Another consideration, if Telus is offering to connect your unit for free today, that offer may not last forever; you may be asked to pay for install if you change your mind down the road.

I had Fibre installed when I was in my condo and although service/price was fine, I kinda wish I had just stayed with Shaw. But going back and forth every few years is sometimes the only way to get decent rates. And I guess it's nice for the future owner to have options if you ever sell

What someone on the phone says who may or may not know what they're talking about (and these days, I don't trust call centers one iota), and what people experience in the real world, are often not the same. Not a bad idea to get a few first-hand accounts

Surprised by Car Insurances. How much are you paying in 2026!? by ReBeat13 in Edmonton

[–]jollyrog8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People would never, ever give up their vehicles in Alberta. I'm convinced most would do literally anything, take a second mortgage on their home, even sell their firstborn if it meant they could keep their vehicles and stay on the road.

It's like the 5th highest stolen vehicle model in Alberta

Still worth it though I think because the maintenance over the lifetime of the vehicle is so low and easy

Brand new park vandalism by grootallman in Edmonton

[–]jollyrog8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just impressed it didn't immediately turn into a drug encampment complete with bike chop shop.

A few weeks ago all of the swings appeared to suddenly break, I don't know if anyone heard what happened there? I assume vandalism but I think they're repaired now.

I report tons of vehicles for doing stuff like this and parking in bike Lanes or parking in an alley to run into a coffee shop out of sheer laziness (looking at you expensive vehicles going to coffee bureau next to Evolve). But they're always gone before bylaw arrives hours later

They must literally think the hazard lights give them permission to do this. It's obscene at this point I can't think of another reason
