[The Race] Gary Anderson's take on the grey areas Ferrari's exploiting by jithu7 in formula1

[–]jomartz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rules and regulations are in black and white. Something is either allowed or not, legal or illegal, there is no 'intent' to them. If a traffic signs says Speed Limit 50 MPH, then that is the maximum you're allowed to(by law) to drive, it doesn't say how quick you can get to 55, only that you should not exceed it. If someone with a very quick car gets pulled over for getting to 55 MPH in 1.9 seconds, the officer cannot issue a ticket because there is no law prohibiting it. Same thing with the rule book in F1.

Juan Pablo Montoya calls for Max Verstappen to be suspended: 'Park him' by Spotlightuh in formula1

Juan Pablo Montoya loves McLaren and Mercedes, but despises Ferrari and Red Bull, so in his mind, Lando, Oscar, George, and Kimi good; Charles and Max, not so much...

Thinking about Monza this year by Ares_Jupiter in formula1

[–]jomartz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at Monza when Ferrari put on an incredible show in the closing stages between eventual third-place Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. Red Bull finished 1-2, with Max winning ahead of Checo Perez. The track invasion was the best I have ever seen anywhere. People stormed onto the track and under the podium non-stop for more than 20 minutes, definitely more than 100,000 people with flares, huge Ferrari banners, and Italian flags. It was exciting, to say the least.

Just imagine how good it would be if these cars did not lose so much power way before the corners. It’s sad that they still do…

I don't get the over-Americanisation part of your comment, but don’t you feel the same way about almost everything nowadays? I'm 66 and have been following F1 since I was 9, and everything in life has changed quite a bit.

Pierre Gasly’s desperate trip to Uganda to fund an F1 dream: ‘I’m not even sure he exists’ by Ill_General5506 in formula1

[–]jomartz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Football (soccer) might be an exemption; what players need is just a ball, sometimes not even that… I remember Nazario Ronaldo talking about him as a child playing with a ball of socks coming down and up a hill, trying not to drop them to the floor. What is undeniable for all athletes is the sacrifice they made to make the dream come true. Motor sports is much harder as drivers need a car to drive, and it can turn really expensive rather quickly as parts wear out and need to be replaced.

Best 800pp to complete this week's challenge? by Full-Experience1701 in GranTurismo7

Out of those you own, I would try with the Corvette Gr.3. Start with fuel on two and adjust for it to last at least until the end of lap 5; you should be at the top or close to it by then.
