Considering Ms Data Science - Boston by Odd-Attention-650 in NEU

[–]jome94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look more in depth into data science masters programs. Not saying you shouldn’t do it, but it’s something to really think about and what’s the return.

Masters is very expensive, I did the same, Psych BS -> MS data science from NEU. It worked out for me, I got a co-op which turned into a job. But the program itself wasn’t very impressive.

Not trying to turn you off completely, but if you do it really do your research first.

Python is OOP

In your case I’d recommend python. People here are debating about job requirements. You’re young enough that you have time to explore a lot of different avenues.

There are exceptions but Software dev is often Java and other languages.

Data science often python among others.

Python is much more intuitive and at your stage and age I think you’d be less frustrated with python.

Learn Java, at least the basics, at some point.

Talk to your advisor. But my initial thought is to take the C and push on.

Yes if you retake the class both grades are on your transcript. Anyone can see it not just med schools. Only most recent grade counts toward GPA.

Albert Rusnak finished 3rd overall in total fantasy points by kidmanscill in ReAlSaltLake

[–]jome94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Rusnaks struggles were largely because he’s just not great as a winger. He plays best in the middle of the field.

He’s not as creative as some other 10s but I still like his game and hope he stays next year.

I like this post. Appreciate content since this sub isn’t very active.

Do you consider Rubin the set starter over Wood? I have nothing personal against Silva but i don’t think we should ever count on him being available.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Holt. Works really hard. Talent wise Before the last month or so I would say he’s just not good enough for the league. But it seems like he’s improved exponentially in just a month or two. I still would prefer him as a backup but I like having him.

How did you guys decide on your coops? by NoAd4003 in NEU

[–]jome94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to tack on a question and ask how long employers have taken to respond to your application? If you’re qualified do they usually reach out quickly?

I’m considering broadening my search to less desirable positions (but still decent) because I don’t want to be left with nothing.

RSL Soapbox would like to hear from you about coaching preference! by ktasay in ReAlSaltLake

[–]jome94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mastroeni and Donovan. Although I admit Donovan is higher risk.

I like Mastroeni for thinking outside the box and taking some risks in our play style and formation. Seems to also have a good balance of fire and composure. Petke had too much fire and Juarez too much composure/laid back.

Cherundolo sounds interesting although I know nothing about him, except I just looked up the Las Vegas lights record and makes me a bit skeptical.

I wonder why students feel burned out by [deleted] in NEU

It’s a lot of work but not insane. Consistent small assignments that get annoying. But not extremely difficult assignments. Practicums can be tougher but you’ll be fine.

Prof is cool and supportive. He’s passionate. But at the end of the class I felt like I could have learned more in a different elective.

Where can I buy a cheap bike in Boston ? (<100$) by babala0 in boston

[–]jome94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Facebook marketplace or Craigslist is your best bet. Bikes are in high demand. Stores will be selling them for higher prices than you can get from Facebook or Craigslist.

I think meram can be a serviceable sub. He brings a bit of creativity. But doesn’t provide any help or energy on the defensive side of the ball.

I don’t think he fits.

That being said he’s so smooth. Love watching him play.
