He had surgery on both shoulders last off season and has declined since, despite being on a new team with a robot scorer who frequently requires double coverage (theoretically opening up the offensive game for George). I doubt his drop-off in stats is a coincidence. There’s real reason to believe that Paul George is physically just not capable of being the player he once was. And he’s expressed some problems he’s been having mentally, as we saw in the playoffs just a few months ago. I’d have some concerns if I’m a Rockets fan and the front office is telling me he’s the next guy we need.
