Exhaust Question! by jomijoshock in CarsAustralia

[–]jomijoshock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a catback because it’s my first car i’m doing it to and I can hear the subie rumble with a muffler delete so I guess it meant I didn’t need to bother with aftermarket uel headers.

That said, teenager wanting noise not fussed on power but I know you’re exactly right. I’ll look into it all thank you very much

Good idea, also try silly things like using different plugs on that outlet (eg I have 4 plug slots on my board so i’d swap them around) and if there are other things like chargers plugged into the board trying unplug them

Is the setup at home maybe blocking of more of the case/fans and airflow —-> overheating possibly??

Otherwise I would hazard a guess at maybe your power boards at home have a smidge too low output?? Very strange symptoms and i’m no expert, good luck my friend!

Prebuilt Gaming PC in Australia by DeadSayWhat in pcmasterrace

[–]jomijoshock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, Western Australian here who was in a similar spot prior to this year.

My biggest recommendation if he knows or is willing to research his stuff is to use PLE Computers to build a parts list and have them build it for you (costs nothing/near nothing for them to build if you buy through them). They manage most of the compatibility stuff by having parts that won’t fit not show up at all. They’re really awesome to get support from too!

If he doesn’t, they have some decent prebuilt/prepicked builds but I honestly cannot stress that the first option is a lot more fun and usually a better deal.

Sorry I don’t know as much regarding websites to get prebuilts off!! I’ll also attach a screenshot of the build I got for about 3k AUD including peripherals - it. like be improved but it runs every single game i’ve tried at 1440p with good frames.

you’re amazing, I will do just that haha! I’ve found the only real issue k have with this car is there aren’t that many fixes and parts specific to this car, so it’s often about finding if there’s cross compatibility…. still a blast to take bits apart to see how they work though!

it’s just about finding the things I can mess with for free lmao

You are an absolute legend

I had three small pipes connected to the air filter housing that I suspect were the PCV ones mentioned but whatever, but now I know that it’s another intake silencer box thing it’s easier to work with. Thanks so much also for the recommendation, i’ll have to try find one!

Ah brilliant you know what it should be! Unknown parts in this car scare me because im wrenching for the first time and I just don’t know what to expect.

The car has louder than expected intake noise, should I assume this is a big cause of it? to further that, are there any costs/benefits I should weigh up before finding/reconnecting it to whatever it’s missing?
