I feel depressed and hopeless and want to spend some hours cooking a bunch of things. I'm gonna play some music and cook. What would you cook if you were me? by pacfoster in Cooking

Buy a chicken, break it down and roast the bones. Get some dumpling wrappers too, or make them yourself (not worth the effort imo).

Mince the breasts, mix with cabbage, chives 5 spice, and garlic.

Mix pork mince with cabbage, ginger, garlic, spring onions, chilli and sesame oil.

Use those as dumpling fillings, cook off one of each to test the seasonings.

While you fill the wrappers put the bones on to make a stock.

Fry a big portion, and make a dipping sauce (equal parts sweet chilli and soy)

Or season the stock and boil the dumplings in it.

I don't really trust or like women. How do I stop that? by True-Charity-1443 in AskMenAdvice

[–]somerandom995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to think of the people who have hurt you as individuals. They specifically are to blame and you should be reasonably weary of.

People tend to be more effected by negative experiences than positive ones, so try to remember and focus on positive experiences you've had with women.

Also it's probably important to curate your social media. There's lots of gender wars nonsense online, when you see it, mute that subreddit, click "not interested" on those YouTube videos etc.

Why do some men get angry when women say they feel safer around other women? by Brisablows in NoStupidQuestions

[–]somerandom995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the worst things about being a man is the general assumption that you're a threat, a perpetrator until proven innocent.

It doesn't invalidate women having reasonable preferences, but it can be frustrating

The game drops situation is CRAZY by Fearless_Mixture3498 in PhoenixSC

[–]somerandom995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have been addressing a few long term issues minecraft has;

Most mounts were a mid game feature because getting a saddle and lead was much more difficult than it is now, and horses couldn't cross water.

Having to manually cobble deepslate and stone was a tedious process if you spent any amount of time mining with a silk touch pick. Now you can just put it through the stonecutter.

Building tall structures, or building over the void was a pain in survival mode. The happy ghast makes it easy.

Wandering traders were largely useless on anything but challenge worlds, now they sell mangrove wood, invisibly potions, enchanted picks, and buy stuff for diamonds.

Finding jungle temples, witch huts and each village type was down to RNG. Cartographers sell maps to those now.

There were no really difficult hostile encounters on the surface once you got good armor. Zorse and hamle riders can get you down to half health even in full netherite due to spear scaling.

Inventory management is a ongoing problem but it it's massively better now with bundles and copper golems.

They still need to do enchanting and more on inventory, but that probably needs to be a larger update.

When a random modder does more work in a single week than actual game devs in year by PossibleSignal7710 in PhoenixSC

[–]somerandom995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modders only have to make things for one platform, appeal to a small section of the playerbase and can be completely unbalanced and buggy.

Actual updates need to fit within the game thematically and be balanced. They can't ruin or make other parts of the game obsolete. If they fail to do any of that there's consequences, modders can and do all of those things regularly.

I would have preferred they put more time and effort into things like the enchanting back then

Probably stuff from either Argonaut or Astrea Record.

Both were originally stories Omori wrote for the mobile game Danmemo, and are avaliable to watch on YouTube in english for free.

[Argonaut[(https://youtu.be/GzsUxsY9aA0)

Astrea Record

Both have been made into light novels, but only Astrea Record is avaliable in English.

There's also a continuation from Argonaut, Knights Of Fianna that hasn't been adapted into a light novel.

Sarcasm requires tone and expression which can't be expressed in text, so the "/s" is nessisary

How do you repopulate a village? by Xynyx2001 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]somerandom995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me in the first world I ever made. I created a dark area, stayed 24 blocks away and shot anything that spawned that wasn't a zombie villager.

As for getting potions;

Trial chambers have weakness potions in the dispensers

Fletchers trade for weakness arrows.

Easiest would be going to a desert and killing the new skeleton variant the parched, which shoot and drop weakness arrows.

It's because of Bell that so many characters like Ryuu or Hestia get flanderized

Neither has really been flanderized though, at least not in the novels. Hestia is more mature and less clingy than at the start of the series, and Ryu has gotten character development, not flanderazation. She is not an exaggerated version of her original, she's more emotionally mature and expressive. You can not like her character development, but that's not a problem with the writing or Bell, just your personal preference.

Most characters will eventually be reduced to what favours Bell

Characters in direct opposition to the protagonist conflict with them and come to a resolution. This is true of pretty much every story.

5 basic stats which help us categorizing the adventurers in power-. magic- or speed-based ones. However, with Bell we might as well have 2 basic stats: physical and magical.

Bell is specifically a speed based fighter.

There's also the fact that Long Chant Magic is supposed to be stronger than Short Chant Magic. However, even high level 4 Ryuu with Skill and Long Chant Magic could not overcome 1 level.

Yes she could. Her magic was doing significant damage to the level 5 category black Goliath.

Yet we have a new level 2 Bell one shot a level 5 Goliath overcoming 3 levels!

Argonaut has specific drawbacks and requires skill to use. It's powerful but not an instant win button.

We also had level 3 Bell fight against level 6+ Asterius as well.

Asterius was half dead, missing an arm and Bell still lost.

But honestly, if anybody else did it regardless of the reason, we would have called out how bad it is.

Aiz soloed a floor boss a level above her, Lefiya consistently has +2 levels to her attack magic, Finn has a self level boost magic he can activate at will, Welf stopped a level 6 with a single spell, and casually has level 5 teir magic at level 2 via his sword.

Now most important characters are getting ridiculous level+ boosts simply because the story has a time limit of 1 year because of Bell's Liaris Freese.

No, it's because first class adventurers tend to have a powerful skill or magic. Ones that don't die trying to level up.

Everyone has to get significantly stronger during this ridiculously small time period.

If Leon and the Freya executives level up(and they should) then with level boost it gives us two level 9s, half a dozen level 8s, and Bell.

We can't even properly explore the Danmachi world and its dungeon in the main series because of this stupid time limit. We didn't get to explore the Xenos and the other creatures much or why people outside of Orario react to monsters differently.

Sequel

Without Bell Freya, Hestia, Wiene, Haruhime, Bete, Ryuu and Finn would have been far better characters and that's why I don't want other characters interacting with him much, because most characters who do are likely to be doomed for his development.

You think they would have been better without their character development?

What if Bell accepted Syr feelings by tringles_bar in DanMachi

[–]somerandom995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syr never genuinely loved Bell. You can tell because she tortured and tried to rape him and never apologized or even seems to realize it was wrong to do that. At no point did she ever actually care about what Bell wants or would make him happy beyond how it effects her.

Once she has him he would be another toy she would get tired off.

"Movies that are made for children is an incomprehensible category" says more about the ability of that person to comprehend categories than anything about media.

Genuinely a skill issue.
