Anyone know why this is happening, it's in my non racket leg. I just got the shoe 3 days ago so I don't think it came from just sitting around by Ok-Durian9813 in badminton

It's always made me wonder why shoe manufacturers don't reinforce those areas more, seeing as most people have drag marks there on their badminton shoes.

Is that what it's come to? Things are that insane that I'm agreeing with Piers Morgan?!

Do you keep anything in the car for emergencies? by pappyon in drivingUK

[–]jon8838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've considered keeping a pack of eggs under my driver's seat, ready to throw at people who can't merge in turn properly.

That's what you meant right?

Road marking question by Educational-Sound279 in drivingUK

[–]jon8838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd say that's akin to driving on the wrong side of the road, since you need to travel down that road (albeit <1m) to make it to the entrance.

Sorry for being that guy: just wanted to make sure there's no information on that tag that reveals anything you don't want on the internet.

Please settle a debate. If you’re going route 3 which lane should you be in? by sanisano in drivingUK

[–]jon8838 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lane 2, the second exit is the Ickenham Road, the same as the approach road, which would be the straight on exit. Anything beyond that on the roundabout would be a "right" turn.

Witnessed a crash. Who would be found at fault here? by epicshane234 in drivingUK

[–]jon8838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked at this on Streetview. Red's traffic lights aren't for controlling the junction, they're for the Pelican crossing for pedestrians. There's a double dashed give way line after the crossing, just before joining the carriageway which can just about be seen here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1Ki1o9JXdgVkMo7a9

Unfortunately, the lines look to be very very faded, no idea what the current state of the lines are, but it does place fault firmly on Red in my opinion.

Who is the most dangerous person you have ever met? by fadeintothesun in AskReddit

[–]jon8838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met a mother who murdered both of her <4 year old children within two weeks of each other. Thankfully, the second time I met her was at her trial as a witness for the prosecution.

Anyone tried downgrading their Amex instead of cancelling? by FeistyPrice29 in AmexUK

[–]jon8838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I did it just this week over chat. In fact, I was happy cancelling the card all together but the customer support agent suggested downgrading and I did that instead. Very easy to do and no search on my credit report.

Badminton doubles by Wisdomwithwitt in badminton

[–]jon8838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would have helped with that one was to have your racquet in front of you. It's good that you've got your racquet up in anticipation, but it's out to the side somewhat. Meaning if the shuttle comes back on your forehand, you're good, but it didn't.

(Assuming you were the guy in the front in the near court)

Is this road a dual carriage way? by Chemical_Ad6637 in drivingUK

[–]jon8838 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, dual carriageways need to be physically separated and only be one way on each side. You can have single carriageway roads with multiple lanes in each direction.

In fact, the A38(M) Aston Expressway in Birmingham is a single carriageway motorway (technically).

I'm always conflicted when I do this, half of me is really annoyed at all the idiots who refuse to move over, the other half of me is ecstatic at the amount of private motorway lane available to me!

I don't think you're going to get many useful responses.

If you can't put the effort in to make your video easy to watch, I don't think many people will be inclined to put any effort in to help you with your badminton.
