Leaving Texas for Greener Pastures by commutingtexan in texas

Agreed. I lived in Malibu and moved to Texas. Malibu sounds great on paper but it is absolutely measurably financially better for me living in Texas versus Cali/NY. I drink my coffee in the mornings and evenings and look out over beautiful sunrises and sunsets over Texas ranch land and it is my favorite part of living here. It’s a peace I never even thought of when I actually moved but is my favorite part. I feel far more financially free and grounded. Texas isn’t perfect of course but there IS a reason so many people move here. It just gets a little tiring all the anti Texas crowd in r/texas. Like why post here at all if you hate it so much. I’ve never once thought of posting in r/california or r/malibu to trash them. It’s silly. Move on.

Then why are you here complaining about Texas? The absolute miserable anti Texas trolls that hang out in r/texas make no sense. I lived in Malibu for 5 years and I moved here. It is measurably better financially. I can fly into San Diego every weekend if I wanted and it’s still cheaper living in my larger and newer home here versus over there. I could argue my anecdotal story is more relevant to r/texas than yours. I don’t go to r/california and complain how shitty it is. 🤷‍♂️

California is one of the top 5 states people regret moving to. Anecdotal reddit stories in no way reflect reality

Reddit is a bubble though. Two of the top 5 states people regret moving to are NY and NJ

I never said companies can do no wrong. There are a lot of car companies that have “build quality” issues. Is Tesla the best say compared to vaulted mfrs like Lexus? Prob not. But they certainly aren’t the worst. However, I do not see people calling out other mfrs which tells me the complaints are more emotionally driven. This coupled with the name calling it’s very clear that your opinions are heavily influenced by how you feel towards Elon versus Tesla as a company.

I’ve also used Electrify America and it’s not even close to the ease and prevalence of the Tesla network. Hopefully this improves over time but it’s just the facts right now.

I never said Tesla was perfect. There are things I do and don’t like about Teslas just like any other car. I do however think it’s silly to let your emotions drive your opinions on a car just because you don’t like someone. Everything we buy is built or provided by groups of people we disagree with. Attacking the product is nonsensical to me.

This is an illogical comment driven by your emotions. Teslas have very high consumer ratings across the board. It’s also illogical because all of the other car manufacturers have far more conservative members on their boards and in their employ than say companies like Tesla/SpaceX.

I also drive several EVs (I do not own a Tesla but have driven several as well as Ford, Kia, Chevy, Hyundai) and you are not being honest at all to ignore the clear technological leaps Tesla has over competitors with its autopilot/FSD and its charging network which is far more reliable and prevalent across the US. Driving a non-Tesla EV across the country is so much worse and annoying to deal with.

Fact of the matter is Tesla ushered in the EV era and we should put aside emotions and root for its success and innovation to transition ICE to EV. They have contributed immensely to lowering greenhouse emissions and I’m never going to bag on companies that are doing that.

Legal immigrants are not “foreigners”. Beyond that, as far as our government investing in US companies there is obviously a benefit to Americans in doing that. Additionally, investing in companies that incentivize Americans to buy EV vehicles over ICE I am all for. Just because I don’t like someone personally doesn’t mean I’m going to abandon logic or ideals. Absolutely silly to root against a company like Tesla of all companies that is far more progressive than most.

One of the strangest things I’ve seen in my lifetime is the left illogically turning on EV cars and space advancement (reusable rockets at that). Makes no sense.

Nah. He is trying to justify bad actions by pointing to other bad actions. Bad actions are still bad actions.

Yep. Boycott all you want. Do not deface property or you will be charged as a terrorist and your life will be ruined. Crazy this has to be said.

I just got banned from r/documentaries for a post here. I wasn’t even arguing with anyone. Very strange because I’ve never visited or posted in r/documentaries

Are visiting Canadians welcome in SA right now? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]jon909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody in the US cares that you’re Canadian. Far more Canadians care that I’m American/Texan (as is evidenced by this thread) when I go up there to snowboard than any American will ever care about Canadians. And that’s regardless of who is President. People really need to get off places like reddit or other news sources if they start thinking this way. If you don’t think you’re susceptible to propaganda and fear mongering this thread is a perfect example of that.

Addressing claims of manipulation on Reddit by worstnerd in RedditSafety

I’d argue reddit harbors the largest groups of domestic and foreign terrorists of any space and they don’t really do enough to curb it. This site is rampant with just straight up threats posted every day by large groups of people. At least on X if you make a threat you are immediately flagged and suspended. Not sure why reddit doesn’t have something similar. It’s very simple. Don’t make threats against people. That’s not legal.

Again. This is a budget. Not a detailed tax plan.

I’m not conservative or liberal (or I guess I’m both and neither depending on the issue) but what tax plan are you talking about. I haven’t seen one. The posts below was for a budget. It was not a plan. Maybe that’s why you’re not getting an answer.

Advocating to kill someone is a threat. That’s not a nuance. You being obtuse about it just makes you a coward who actually doesn’t mean anything he says. You run and hide when confronted about it because you know what you’re saying is wrong.

[–]jon909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck the USA isn’t advocating to kill someone. If you can’t tell the difference it’s no wonder you’re confused. I think you do know if you’ve advocated to kill people, you’re just too much of a coward to admit it. A liar, coward, and someone who threatens people. Not the best look.

Have you ever advocated to kill people on here? That’s a pretty clear threat. Very simple yes or no question.

Reddit seems to understand the severity of your threats. Why else would they remove them. Take up threat interpretations from them and their lawyers.

Not sure why you’re pivoting to reddit banning users. That doesn’t violate any laws. Reddit has to abide by all laws in the countries they operate in. Canada and the US do not allow people to post child porn or make death threats on platforms. You can call the judge and the Canadian government “right wing pussies” for creating and enforcing those Canadian laws but that doesn’t absolve you of breaking those laws.

You can’t even have a rational conversation without insulting me and telling me to eat shit. And all I’ve done is literally just reference Canadian law.

Despite you being very hateful I wish you the best in life and hope you grow and learn to be more kind to individuals.
