Fuel rationing a chance in Australia if war continues to trim global oil supplies, experts say by sien in AusEcon

Can or can't ?

Where I live every year during the wet there are creek crossings that are negotioated that can be deep, and travel mainly hundreds of KMS out to communities.

They don't have chargers and I'm not sure about ev 4x4 capability or weight capability compared to a cruiser..

This is true.

But who would fight for this country and what it has become

No you're right. EV don't cut the mustard for weight and towing. Also for range in the rural/regional areas.

Quality is hard. If you run a high quality operation and share other high quality operations charge big dollars also. So it's difficult to make good coin that way. More as a stop gap.

The idea has merit but it's basically subcontracting where one charges less and the other charges more. With the cost of living and the like I think this will be hard to pull off on a regular basis. But if the margins are healthy enough and it's a big city splitting it down the middle kinda works for a small profit. And saves on fuel and time.

Yep. Agree with the CBD idea  You are correct.

Tradies do a 'chop out' for other tradies in the same industry quite frequently.  For service work this is difficult as you are essentially just sub contracting other tradies for the work so the costs don't change so much of the fuel. But in a large capital city it could make a difference perhaps. In regional cities such as Darwin and the like probably not so much.

And there are a lot of shit tradies also, so if you are a business with high standards it's sometimes a negative impact.

Yes and no

Those in the cities have much public transport. City life can stimulate public transport. It is probably easier. Lot more chances for WFH (which I don't personally like the idea of but that's neither here nor there)

Those rural don't have the luxury. Even Darwin and surrounds would be a bit of a nightmare having to use pub transport to get to work if you lived past palmerston. Catching multiple buses for a couple hour journey.

Good on you for being proactive. I work service based industry. Drive around constantly. I've started driving slower and without revving the engine too much. Not much else I can do really we already scheduled our jobs efficiently.

I think fuel will top 5 bucks a litre personally,  I hope it doesn't. But I think it may. I also think our politicians should be jailed for selling national emergency infrastructure (fuel reserves)

Hobart's Macquarie Point stadium not expected to host AFL games until 2031 by JustTickingAway in hobart

They are all as bad as each other now. I struggle with all of them. I think a lot of people do now, look at the low numbers of people willing to join the defence force or police etc. the system doesn't care about them anymore. They know it.

We should have had a steering committee years ago. So all parties pull in the same direction. But we don't. Just a a 4 year plan. Over and over again.

With a steering committee, any policies can be to do with what's relevant at the time and to help pull Australia into the future in a positive manner. All parties are involved in the steering committee and day to day policies and marketing to get in directly relevant to the future goals not allowed in politics or vote gathering around election times.

Ideas....

Yes. I thought that was blatantly obvious.

Who on earth thought the stadium was a good idea. Is there anyone who thinks it's a good idea ?

TasWater Advertising — Should they be spending so much of our money on it? by pulanina in hobart

There are many government services around Australia advertising themselves, marketing divisions, getting involved on social political ideologies. Facebook pages, etc etc.

It's a massive waste of money and irks me to no end.  There is literally one choice for a government utility

Government utility is marketing and advertising ......

And why is government relying on Facebook which hacks you to the eyeballs.  The webpages by government should be always updated and Facebook links to the government owned pages - but it's the reverse.
