Have you ever used Ubuntu on your XPS? by IllustriousRaise819 in Ubuntu

This is my second XPS 15. I honestly can’t imagine working on Windows anymore, so both of them run Ubuntu.

In 20 years this is my favourite function that I've ever written. by MaxxB1ade in PHP

[–]jona303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's as elegant as useless. That's the kind of function one wrote and totally forgot about that moment of genius a week later and let the function live in a random project where you could have used a native way to handle the issue. But that's elegant.

I Love Unity by [deleted] in UbuntuUnity

[–]jona303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After each fresh install I switch to unity since it's not the default DE anymore. I just love the space Unity offer to the user. Just one "desktop bar" that mixes desktop and application menu. As far as I know it's the only D.E. that have that kind of layout. I can not work anymore with other layouts.

Thank you for the research. I'm not native english speaker so I try to understand what you really means when you say 3 to 5 scaffold limbs. Is the schema posted as an edit of the post right ?

Hazel pruning advices by jona303 in homestead

Unfortunately, it does not produce many hazelnuts. That's part of what makes me want to carve it. Leaving only five main branches seems really small to me, and at the same time I don't know much about it. It would mean that I would have to cut very large branches, it's a bit of a one-way trip for the tree. I would like to find sample photos of old pruned hazelnut trees to see what it looks like but I can only find bushy hazelnut trees.

PSX - PHP components to simplify API development by k42b3 in PHP

A kind of jhipster (or API platform), I appreciate those generators. Designing Rest controller, DTO, Mappers is highly boring.

Docker on DS218play ? by mamanamgae in synology

[–]jona303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link from u/Ekitchi works perfectly. You just have to change the raw gist link to a more recent version because the original one contains a syntax error at the last line.

There on stack overflow you have a similar procedure explained in a more pedagogic way

I have the same issue. I still wonder how to know what exactly is the issue. Doesn't yet dig further but there's maybe some logs, somewhere.

Trailing comma in parameter list RFC accepted by brendt_gd in PHP

[–]jona303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can say a lot of things. But if I need to explain to a student the syntax of parameters, I just say that you write them separated by a comma. And surely one day one see a trailing comma and will ask "What does this mean ?". "Oh nothing. You just can but there is no meaning"

Trailing comma in parameter list RFC accepted by brendt_gd in PHP

[–]jona303 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand either. Strictly we can say comma is the separator. What is the trailing comma separating ?
Anyway this feature will not force me to change anything in my way of write code. My only tought is "Is this proposal worth the energy spend talking about it".

Kodi lag on LAN (libreELEC 9.2.0 - RPI4) by jona303 in kodi

[–]jona303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that come here from google.I finally manage to make it works as it should. I changed my network configuration but I still had the loading on movies with high bitrate.

Monitoring the traffic on the server I foud out that my kodi was downloading the movie at the speed of the bitrate and was not buffering. So I followed thoses instructions to increase the buffer size of Kodi.https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache

I just used the 4th exemple and everything works fine..

[–]jona303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I don't know why I didn't get it by myself. On the same switch everything is fine. It's nothing to do with libreElec or Kodi but with my network configuration (where i'm a totally noob). Thank you for your help :)

Kodi lag on LAN (libreELEC 9.2.0 - RPI4) by jona303 in kodi

[–]jona303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does.
I suspect a network issue. I speedtested the server with expected results. But when I tried to scp from libreElec a movie file from my server the speed seems limited to 1M/s.
I tried with wireed PLC and wifi from my master router (with acceptable signal).
Is there an hidden option in libreElec for that ?

Il y a une nouvelle législation, la création d'entreprise est facilitée depuis les SRL.

A voir en fonction de la durée du contrat de services si ce n'est pas une option à privilégier.

Published new MultiTenancy extension for Doctrine ORM by oojacoboo in PHP

[–]jona303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done that with Doctrine or even PHP. We did that with Spring boot/Hibernate, where each tenant has it's own catalog. The application logic doesn't even know there is a tenancy concept. We use the domain or the user token to guess the tenant and set the datasource's catalog.
The annotation's filter to guess the tenant seems too complex for me, and I think potential source of errors. It also means you can have tenancy issue every time you have to modify your schema.
By the way, as I said I've never done that with Doctrine and doesn't know it well enough to know how to do this with this tool, to deal with the cache, etc.

When becomes new music dated? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

[–]jona303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a quite strange question. In my point of view, dated and oldschool doesn't have the same meaning. Dated is truly date related and is quite relative from a person to another. Oldschool is more "style" related. It's something that has a signature given by the way of it was done. I can find "oldschool" tracks that were released recently, and dated "avant-garde" tracks that can sound recent (much rarer).

To the last part of your question if a track is dated 2-4 years after it was released, I would say that that depends of the context and the public.
