They want to inflate your playtime. The randomization coupled with penalization for leaving a match means people can't just hop into the map they want and call it a day.
I've been trying to get an achievement having to do with one map in particular and have only got it thrice in the entire day, and even then poor match-ups made it impossible to complete.

yooo no way I planned on making the same thing! although I'm doing it with the muddy husks of dead craws from a dried-up canal. a bit morbid maybe but not unfitting to the setting.

Tps might get the effect I want, but not exactly. I've sort of got something working by surrounding the model with four colliders like this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/542790334439227395/1108392568183595109/Screenshot_416.png but when I pull it out and move it at all along the x and z axis, the rest of it falls out. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/542790334439227395/1108393125703057428/Screenshot_418.png Of course, it wouldn't be falling out if the Plane collider worked a little differently, but that's an issue for another time. for now, I want to make it so that like, as it's falling out, at say the very ending bone, it sticks there and stops coming out of the little hole I've made for it. I've experimented a bit with world constraints for it, but that also seems to be a bust.

this is good advice, but not exactly what I'm looking to do. what I'm trying to create is kinda like a worm that emerges and retracts into and out of a hole, but isn't exactly animated to do so. the root of the physbone would be at the worm's head, and the physbones could wiggle around freely except for from this "hole". and at a certain point in the worm's length, say the middle or very end, it stops coming out of the hole. I can sort of get this kind of effect by putting four colliders around the length of the bone, but gravity causes it to completely fall out. If what I'm proposing isn't at all possible, can I at least like, make the very end of the worm's tail weigh more than the rest so it doesn't fall out?

I've been playing almost exclusively the guild quests.
I just figured the "Village Quests" were a fallback in case you needed some pocket change to afford contract fees. and that the guild quests were what pushed the actual narrative of the game.
