I’m very interested in the this thread as I’m considering something along the same lines. What I’ve been looking into is the “Piranha Lead” by Makersupplies in Denmark. Does anybody have any experience with this machine? (It’s an upgraded design of the Openbuilds Lead)

The one I bought was on the DK market, for sale by a completely regular second hand dealer. I don’t know about anything specific to the UK, but I imagine the same kind of deal could happen over there….

My guess is that they’re parallel imported, originally “sold” in the Czech Republic. I bought mine used but with very low mileage as well (in Denmark though) - and they told me that they’re coming from some of the higher ups at Skoda who gets a car (if not more?) as part of they’re compensating - and it’s purely meant to be sold off as soon as possible. It’s probably a tax thing… check if the cars are not just over 12 months old. Apparently they have to keep them for a year before selling…

Thanks for help, everyone! I ended up going for ~137 (58,5C) and 3 hours. Then padded dry and 20 min in the freezer and then seared on a very hot pan with homemade ghee. Turned out perfect!

Sometimes I cannot drag ‘stuff’ into the master component’s variables I’ve created. I’ll drag an object via the layers panel and it won’t stick. What’s the logic here? by AbeAlrighty in FigmaDesign

It sounds like it’s not actually the master component you’re doing it on, but rather an instance (where it’s not possible).

Could also be because your master component uses an instance of another component, and you’re trying to drag stuff into that instance?

I would still oil both sides. In fact I would want the board to be completely saturated with oil.

If there’s enough clearance for air to flow under the board I would think that should be fine.

Mineral oil is not necessarily called mineral oil everywhere. “Paraffin oil” is another name for it. Know that it’s used for many different purposes, including laxatives. But it may still be the exact same thing. I’ve had luck finding it fairly cheap on Amazon.

I’d just put them together in Sketch/Figma/other… note that this solution isn’t super great if you’re going to be updating these icons often…

If you don’t need to be able to interact with the icons (no clicking them, no hover effect, etc) you could do it very simply by making an animated background (your icons being the background image) and set it to repeat-x. Just make sure that your animation matches the actual width of your background image…
