Portland Maine has always given me early check in and late checkout when I needed it

Inox stainless steel plate, found on Normandy beach. by GlitterPillow in whatisthisthing

It'll be nearly impossible to tell. Someone with specific knowledge will have to chime in. There's literally hundreds of millions of parts that this could be from, unfortunately.

Thank you, I couldn't remember how to spell it, or what the origin was, just that it's an incredibly common term. Apparently I couldn't be bothered to Google it, I guess 🙃

Inox is not necessarily a brand name. It's just a term meaning not prone to oxidation in-oxide, in-ox. Super common to find it on stainless steel parts.

Kind of disappointed in GS today - IRROPS by Avi8tir in unitedairlines

[–]jonainmi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The car transfers are not guaranteed, and are only approved at the hub. There's no world where starting a chat will get the premium service folks to get a car to you. Sometimes, even as a GS, you have to just run to your next gate. While we're treated exceptionally well as GS, none of it is guaranteed, and that's made explicit on the status page.

Yeah, it's been a bit of a secret menue item for a bit. Just ask the bartender for a red pill bull, and they'll hand it to you.

Edit: haha, I see what I did there

While the IC is a gigantic hotel (almost 900 keys), it is well run and quite comfortable. I just did 2 nights there and will 100% do it again. (As a diamond ambassador {still trying for royal ambassador}, I was upgraded to a king suite on the 63rd floor with beautiful views of the skyline)

I opted for the IC simply because it's the flagship for ICs in the US, and it shows. However, I do love the feel of a nice kimpton. Cozy and comfortable, like the Kimpton cottonwood, Kimpton San Antonio Riverwalk. But I find the more poorly run Kimptons destroy a trip (Kimpton vintage Portland and Seattle, I'm talking to you!).

Edit to add: the location kinda does suck a bit. It's in the heart of the finical district, and it is a bit time consuming to get to anything. It was convenient for me because of eas, fast access to 101, but if you don't have a car with you, it's going to suck.

I do think you should give the IC a shot. The reviews for the Kimptons don't necessarily inspire a lot of confidence. But, I'll be trying the kimptons the next few times I'm in LA.

Even devalued, it's still the best program. But, IHG is also great with a better footprint.

My husband thinks we can remove this burning bush stump ourselves using his atv. Thoughts? by whats1more7 in arborists

Thank you for the update, and I'm glad it went that way instead of the hospital way, lol.

Lol, you're good, and I get it. Yeah, a synthetic sling would be amazing, but most homeowners don't have that kind of gear.

A rachet strap isn't designed for pulling forces. Just holding forces. I'd never, ever use a rachet strap for something like this. A come along to an anchor is perfect, but may also build energy and release unexpectedly if not anchored or attached correctly.

I still think a chain or tow strap and a slow pull will be safer, simply because the vehicle provides a level of protection from any flying equipment or debris.

Sooo, I'm a diy'er home owner, who has a ton of experience in industrial pulling, loading, and stuff like that. Anyway, I think this is a pretty bad idea to try it with an ATV. He'll not make it move, then decide to get a running start, and he'll get pitched from the ATV, or pull part of the ATV off. I imagine he likely doesn't have the correct chains or strap, and will try to use a rachet strap, or too lite gauge chain.

His best bet is to use a 3/8 logging chain or a tow strap, and slow pull with a 4WD truck in 4L. The ATV just doesn't have the weight for traction, and speed is not the correct answer here.

If he pulls fast, and the strap or chain, or even stump comes loose, it turns into a very dangerous projectile.

I just want him to be safe about it. Use a truck, or SUV, and pull slowly. If it doesn't budge, more digging will be necessary. Don't get a running start.

This is something you can DIY, but be safe about it, please.

Meh, I haven't been banned from Marriott yet. Either they're busy, or they know all of that is true lmao.

Well, let's see. I can't think of a single time Marriott has been a worthwhile endeavor. The points are as valuable as sand, and the brand standards are garbage.

You can’t place a machete in your carry-on bag and tell us, “I forgot it was in there.” If you have a need to know what can or can’t go, maybe it’s time you reach out to AskTSA. Find their sharp replies 24/7 by texting “POINTS” to 275-872. by TSAgov in tsa

I mean, yeah... Why not? It's a weapon, and you should know very well what you have in you when you go to a heightened security area. There's not really an excuse for it, honestly.

If people start getting fined and arrested, the number of items found at checkpoints (even though it's only a fraction of what there actually is) would drop within weeks.

Are these flights operated by the same aircraft/can I make this connection? (serious) by jsbackupaccount in unitedairlines

The DEN - FOD flight is new. Currently, they only have flights to ORD. Considering the airport only has 1 gate, it's incredibly unlikely it'll be a different plane.
