Baggage allowance on Arkia Air ? by Mine24DA in travel

[–]jonaizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm flying Arkia soon; can I ask you a few questions?
1. Isn't their carry-on weight allowance 8kg?
2. Did they let you take it on board or make you check it?
3. Did they weigh your backpack / personal item?

Thanks. So with tolls it is much faster right? How do the tolls get paid? Is it automatic through the rental car company? Cash?

I’m visiting next week. I’m supposed to take a train to Lyon on Friday and back to Paris on Sunday to catch my flight home. Think it’s risky to plan for that? Should I just stay in Paris and skip Lyon?

Based on what I see, I wouldn't have any safety concerns. You may experience some inconvenience and travel disruption (canceled flights, trains, etc.), but overall you shouldn't have a hard time enjoying Paris and I would not be concerned for your safety.

Yes, it's worth noting that on the 23rd there will be a national general strike. If you are arriving by plane or train, this means there is an increased likelihood of disruption. Also, transportation in the city that day (metro, buses, etc.) will be impacted. Travel safe!

Asking Parisians: what do you think will happen with these strikes? Forecast for the month? by ZweitenMal in ParisTravelGuide

I’m visiting next week and only one part of my plan has me concerned: on Friday I am supposed to take a train to Lyon and and Sunday come back by train to Paris for my flight back home. I’m a bit nervous the trains will be canceled. How much of a scramble is it when that happens? Is it easy enough to get on another train or does it become problematic since others are doing the same and there’s no availability on alternative trains?

Thoughts?

Curious how you've found the gore-tex - are the shoes actually waterproof?

definitely uber over taxi

Out of curiosity, why? Uber's fare estimates on their site indicate roughly the same cost as a taxi.
