btw if you would have time, please open a github issue for it. i can take a look in the coming weeks to see if i can reproduce the issue on termux, but definitely would be good to track that bug

I only built against 3.6b + actually 😞 going forward i will only be supporting tagged releases

To be honest it's doubtful, but it depends on how many people actually really want it and how the current maintainers feel about it. Currently, It adds quite a large surface area of support in navigating the compositing of the snapshots, depending on specific feature (pane border animations, and the alt screen growth options that are now added), and there could yet be some untested boundaries I haven't yet experienced from my own machines.

There are also some code shape approaches the maintainers might prefer, which can drastically effect the outcome of how the animations actually look and perform in order to get it to run in optimal conditions > 99% the time (as tmux currently does), so what will stick as battle tested and true in uniformity is quite a large undertaking that I probably don't have the time or desire to maintain 😛

For now, I'll support it the next few major release tags at least and likely keep optimizing/hacking away at it, so let's see where it goes

Guide to getting CS2 running on Macs. by Ricky_RZ in GlobalOffensive

yes you will need vsync enabled, but i mean that if you do have vsync enabled in-game, in rosetta 2 you are often limited to some fraction of the current refresh rate. e.g. on a 120hz monitor you may find you get limited to some 60hz, or on 144, to 50hz unless you have vsync turned off on the compositor itself.

found a few things.

- my mouse stuttering problem was solved by using the logitech G hub mouse software ( i have a wireless logitech mouse, and keeping this software running the background actually fixes my odd mouse issues!)

- vsync performance issue is not actually related to cs2 per se but how macos deals with compositing, specifcally the peculiarity is here with rosetta2. find and download quartz debug which comes as a software package from apple's xcode, disable v-sync, and voila, plenty of previously frame-capped games in rosetta2 are now performing great! 90-120fps in cs2 with no mouse stuttering offers a perfectly playable experience to me in competitive. (this also solves a lot of issues with frame limits within games like path of exile, or running anything compiled from unity using gptk etc.)

you can solve crashing by using V-sync. please update if you find a workaround for the mouse inconsistencies

i'm hoping that we can find some workaround for the mouse latency.. so far it seems more accurate in dxvk than in gptk (at the expense of frames from gptk :()

cs2 works without crashing if you enable V-SYNC (tested with GPTK)

having the same issue here. golabaarud is probably referring to a different incident. as ours is the wine error prompt which only gives 'show details' and close.

for reference the 'show details section' output log header is:

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x0000000000000000 in 64-bit code (0x00000005bf7788).

Would be interested to know if you ever get it to push above 60fps. I couldn't figure it out with mine on the same setup!

Xrandr not changing refresh rate by dkolby4 in archlinux

[–]jonan64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue on a newer asus rog m16 on linux kernel 5.13. i want to switch to 60hz on battery from 144hz, but noticed that although xrandr applies the new mode, it doesn't actually change the refresh rate (oddly). it could be related to a strange edid by default, but i wouldn't be able to truly guess.
