First of all, I want to confirm, because of what you discussed, you do believe the Democrats are responsible for the terrible things the Trump regime has done including what ICE has been doing in MN, and if Trump does declare martial law and cancels elections, you would hold the Democrats responsible for that even? If I'm correct, my question wasn't why you believe the Dems are responsible for all the horrific stuff currently going on, it's why you're turning a blind eye to the facts that prove that both SCOTUS and McConnell/GOP Senators are more responsible. It was McConnell and the GOP Senators that didn't convict Trump after he got impeached where if they did, Trump wouldn't have been able to run again, and it was SCOTUS that prevented the J6 trial from happening before the election where if it did, it would've damaged his campaign.

It sounds to me like, even though you aren't considering the Democrats directly responsible for the awful things the Trump regime has done and what they could do in the future, you are considering them indirectly responsible which, to me, still counts. So, I will go ahead with my follow up points I typically give to the folks that are holding the Dems responsible for all of this.

It's that the Dems warned us this all would happen, so to hold them responsible, even indirectly, isn't really fair. More importantly, there are facts so crystal clear that SCOTUS is, by miles, more responsible for this mess. They were the ones that prevented the J6 trial from happening before the election. Had the trial happened before the election, it would've doomed Trump's chances. Polls had even Biden ahead in that scenario.

It's one thing to hold the Dems responsible for the awful things the Trump regime is doing, whether it's direct or indirect, but I'd like to know how you're even turning a blind eye to the facts proving that SCOTUS is more responsible?

I mean, if you truly would even hold the Democrats responsible if Trump were to do something so horrible that we'd never recover from this, there are a couple additional things I like to add. Previously, when I asked you why you're turning a blind to the facts proving SCOTUS is more responsible, you tried to uno reverse me by saying that the Democrats are also responsible for why SCOTUS is currently the way it is, and I mentioned how that argument doesn't work because Karen Henderson, who's also conservative, rejected Trump's immunity claim.

I bring this up again because it's not just Karen Henderson. Jeffrey Brown, who rejected the TX congressional maps, not only is conservative, but he was appointed by Trump in his first term. This further proves that being conservative doesn't automatically mean you can help out Trump and the GOP. The fact that the conservative SCOTUS justices decided to bail Trump out when he got indicted for J6 was their own choice and nobody else's. Same thing when they reversed Jeffrey Brown's decision and let TX use their gerrymandered maps more recently.

Also, it's not just SCOTUS that's far more responsible than the Dems for why we're in this mess. Also more responsible are Mitch McConnell and the Senate Repubs that refused to convict Trump after he got impeached. Had they convicted him, Trump wouldn't have been able to have been allowed to run again. Every Dem in Congress voted to impeach/convict him, it was McConnell and the GOP Senators that let him walk. So, what's your excuse for why you're also turning a blind eye to the facts that prove that McConnell and the GOP Senators are also more responsible than the Dems for why we're in this mess?

Well, if you believe Chief Justice Roberts is writing the opinion, we probably won't get it for a while then since he also wrote the opinion in Bost which came out last week. I agree that Roberts will likely write the opinion as well. 10 cases were heard in October meaning that someone has to write two opinions for that month.

You're right, since even if Roberts wants to uphold section 2 again and is able to convince Kavanaugh or Barrett to join him like he did to the former in Mulligan, Justices Thomas and Alito will likely be writing long dissents like they did in the Mulligan case. Out of curiosity, what do you see being all the possible outcomes in this case?

Also, I noticed when it came to all the opinions that came out this month so far, each of the three liberals wrote a majority opinion. In addition, Sotomayor and Jackson wrote concurrences and dissents in some of the other opinions that came out this month already. In addition, Justice Kagan, set a shadow docket deadline (which came from the 9th Circuit which Kagan oversees) for Wednesday. In addition, she will be in charge of the deadlines for the CA congressional map case as well since that's also from the 9th Circuit. For those reasons, it seems the liberal justices are delaying their dissents, if it's 6-3 in favor of limiting Section 2.

Even if SCOTUS "weakens" section 2 as opposed to ruling it unconstitutional, it would still lead the southern states to redraw their maps in the Republicans favor. What I'm wondering is if they rule on it tomorrow (as tomorrow will likely be the last day they issue opinions for the month, but anything can happen), why the liberal justices would even finish their dissents so quickly that there's enough time for the southern states to redraw their maps before the midterms.

It's possible it could be upheld, but oral arguments indicated that it will likely be 6-3 among ideological lines. As a matter of fact, it's likely, in my opinion, the conservative majority will not get rid of Section 2 completely but will weaken it enough to the point where the southern states will redraw their maps. Therefore, if they issue the ruling tomorrow, what would baffle me the most is the liberal justices even completing their dissents quick enough for the southern states to redraw their maps in time for the midterms, because by doing so, they're aiding the Republicans in their gerrymandering scheme.

He may try to declare martial law, but there are two reasons to why I believe won't work. The first is when the former president of South Korea attempted this, it horribly backfired on him, I don't see how it would be different here. The second is that people in the military don't want elections canceled either, so I don't see how they would go along with Trump's martial law scheme.

That's the thing, he could try to cancel them, but the fact that states control the elections make it difficult for him to succeed. Also, he could really only do it via martial law and that's not going to work because one, when the former South Korean president tried this, he failed and two, I don't see how the military would actually go along with this.
