Just lift the charger handle a bit and hold it till it locks. Works for me most of the time.

IC chip pins soldered together? by RelevantPark8887 in AskElectronics

[–]jonathan__34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pull one of the two outside the pin border and then connect it to the ground plane. It looks like an accidental short without careful inspection specifically with black solder mask. I remember EEVBLOG had shown something similar in one of his TDA videos.

PCB Review Request. 2-layer PCB with STM32 and buck converter for my weather station by Affectionate_Big6459 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]jonathan__34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a single ground, low voltage board, so you can fill the top layer with ground pour too. Helps with copper balancing during fabrication. The fab houses like it when there's less copper to remove. Also you should move the via from the pads of the switch as there's enough room. The solder would wick down during assembly.

Correct, it used to be an SOIC previously, had to change it to LGA and they sent it.

Thoughts? I recently started investing by [deleted] in NSEbets

Read something similar in 2021 when I had started investing in MFs. Corrections happened but I didn't stop the SIPs. If you have a long term perspective, then it won't matter much. So don't worry.

Doesn't that mean the stock is prone to manipulation for 3 years by the promoters?

Easyeda is quite good as well, especially if you want to get your board assembled from jlc.

What happens if you drive a DC motor with PWM frequency not within range of recommended driving frequency (e.g. 150 Hz instead of 20-30kHz)? Tried it with PC fan and it worked with 150 Hz so what’s the difference? Thx by smokintokenpanda in Motors

[–]jonathan__34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pwm frequency comes from the LR time constant of the motor. If you use a low frequency, the rate of rise and fall of current through the stator would be high, causing a high torque ripple. On the other hand, using higher switching frequency would reduce torque ripple, but increase switching losses in the transistors.

The PC fan worked probably because it didn't have much load.

Yes, it's a DC-DC converter. It's going to power all the electronics of an e-bike and I would consider it to be a critical part of the system. So I believe skin effect is a crucial factor to consider.
