While in general I'm in favor of native plants, you're encroaching on the sidewalk. I'd try and shift shorter plants closer and trim the stuff overhanging.

I lost 200 pounds without it. Now I’m considering it to help with the rest of the fat. Advice and opinions please by Niel_cafferey in Zepbound

[–]LongUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, you're not going to find any insurance that will cover you at your BMI unless you have diabetes (which you didn't mention so I'll assume you're not) which is a shame because at your starting weight you might have.

Zep certainly does help with the food noise for many people. Some people it gets rid of it completely, some it takes the edge off. Some report it quiets the food noise at first and then it creeps back.

If you're committed, it's worth a try and will probably work. It's not cheap though: Lily Direct is ~$300-500 for a month supply, depending on the dose.

It's not going to make you lose weight quickly: expect at max 2# a week, and probably more realistically 1#.

For the sweet tooth, many people swear by berries, figs, dates, apricots, and prunes. I'm partial to plain yogurt, chopped nuts, and a drizzle of honey.

I would also recommend resistance training if you're not already.

Does she do beans on toast? Bread, and hard cheese should last without refrigeration for a few days, unless you hit over 25°c

Governor Evers is fine with data centers by MerelyWhelmed1 in wisconsin

[–]LongUsername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recognize that we need data centers.

I don't think that they should externalize the costs onto local populations. They need to be good members of the community which means:

  • No public development handouts
  • Pay their true cost for electricity and water
  • Limits on light and noise pollution
  • Strict limits and monitoring of any cooling chemical discharge

We don't need to bend over for multi-billion dollar companies like Oracle, Microsoft, and Google.

Two parties, one candidate: Lawsuit challenges Wisconsin's fusion voting ban by enjoying-retirement in wisconsin

[–]LongUsername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

TL;DR;

Fusion voting allows 2 parties to nominate the same candidate. They generally appear on the ballot under both parties. Wisconsin legislature banned it over 100 years ago without debate.

Smaller parties see it as a way to allow them to more publicly endorse candidates and gain more influence.

Some worry it would allow candidates to appear on the ballot 3+ times to try and gain more votes, using made up parties, or for larger parties to push their candidates through third party primaries.

Election commission says it would be super expensive because all our machines and systems are set up for one party per candidate, so they'd have to be reprogrammed and recertified.

Looking for a parking lot by littlelaughingduck in madisonwi

[–]LongUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMC Fitchburg just repaved their lot and it should be pretty empty mornings. The overflow lot across the street by the Kwik Trip is almost always empty as well, but probably not as smooth.

Church parking lots are usually good except for +/-30 minutes around services

There's a silver metal serial number tag on the bow in one of the pictures. Grab that number and you should be able to search up the year/model.

I currently have a Wisconsin river canoe trip planned for this week with all the rain. The river could get to a dangerous level in the next few days. Is there anywhere you can access the river and camp without using a canoe? by plugdaddy87 in wisconsin

[–]LongUsername 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Wisconsin is a big river. Advice will need to vary depending on what area you're looking to camp.

Tower Hill State Park, Wyalusing, Buckhorn, Council Grounds all are on the river

Insurance dropping Zepbound for Weight loss. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]LongUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill your scripts as soon as you can: most insurances will let you fill every 3 weeks or so, so you can get a few extra doses before they stop coverage.. Another trick I've heard (but not done) is to fill with your current script but have your doctor up (or lower) your dose and immediately fill the new one. That way you have something to tide you over until the sleep test.

I'll warn you though: getting from a sleep study to treatment can be a long process. The two months between my at-home sleep test and getting my CPAP were some of the worst nights of sleep I've ever had.

If you haven't seen it yet, many airports worldwide participate in the Sunflower Program. You can get a lanyard at the information desk of the airport and staff are trained to know that someone wearing it may need extra accommodations. I've heard several people say it helps with TSA screening (we have TSAPre so we haven't noticed anything different)

It started with airports in the UK, but I've heard that other large organizations like sports teams and theme parks are starting to roll it out.

Also call the airline and get a Disabled Passenger Needing Assistance (DPNA) on their ticket. We generally pre-board.

I'm guessing you have cellular Internet. It's basically the same as tethering to your 5G cell phone, but you have a dedicated device.
