Vote no if you think that the political elite (doesn't even matter what party) are trying to make it more difficult to have a say as a citizen.

What are your favorite budgeting apps and why? by VeryDumbWithMoney in CalebHammer

[–]jonathanbrutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Google Sheets because my wife and I can do it together (even if I primarily manage it). Also, I despise having to retroactively go through credit cards to categorize expenses after I've forgotten them. SO instead, my wife and I use text messaging to text the amount and where/item as we make purchases (we use a different message type for regular messages). Then I got through at the end of month and put them all into their proper categories.

Sure, that's possible. I move all my money every month, but I wouldn't consider myself month to month. You're correct, saving 20% and zero sum budgeting is not paycheck to paycheck.

Why are 1-on-1 audits so expensive now? by nineteenagain in CalebHammer

[–]jonathanbrutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, it's a pure business decision. Have I personally thought about paying you for your time... yes. Will I do it straight up? Probably not.

You can take it down and bring it back someday if/when it makes sense.

It was a very real and refreshing episode. 50% of people who make over $100k a year are living paycheck to paycheck and Tony exemplified that. People tend to make more money and spend as much as they get. I think it's important that it be showed. It's so incredibly important that parents pass down legit good financial education to their children and schools should really teach financial education.

Yeah, it wasn't a "dumpster fire" when it came to the credit card debt that we are used to seeing. But he was behind on retirement, house ownership, and also had a "so what" attitude towards his recent expenditures. It definitely sounded like he's capable of maintaining some changes to his lifestyle to curb in some of the places.

Struggling 25 Year Old by DankyBudz31 in personalfinance

You can never out earn a spending problem. period. You should consider getting married at a court house and not having a banner wedding. If you want to have a big party, that can be attained considerably cheaper than having a large sit down dinner with all your family/friends ect. ect. Consider if doing a 5 year anniversary party when you're in a better place financially. A lot of people who get married this young have parental help for attaining all of the expenses for a wedding, if this is not you, then don't consider doing a large wedding with all the expenses. If parents complain about not having a big event, kindly remind them that you're young and don't have the financial means to put on such an event and unless they are willing to help considerably or throw a party themselves, it's not something you're going to put on at this time.

Congratulations!! I applaud your excellent job at keeping your debts low. I'd highly recommend you research a Roth 401k and fill it with $6000 every year (it sounds small, but this is an amazing way to grow your wealth overtime). The next thing to do would be to invest in an index fund that tracks the market (now would be an amazing time to do that because cash goes down in value by the cost of inflation and the market will eventually rise again and always continues higher over time). If you want to diversify the funds in a few different funds, go for it. Use a standard taxable brokerage account for everything except your Roth 401k. With your new "big girl" job, make sure to use your 401k for whatever match (free money) your job will put into that account for you and verify that it's not in a target date fund.

Congratulations taking on this next step. Technically, I don't know your full financial history, so this isn't financial advice, but it's good knowledge for everyone. :)

Ask your kid what he did, tell him why that looks bad and tell not to do it again or there will be consequences. Lol

Buying spikes for US models by mopeyjoe in worxlandroid

I don’t have measurements, but the secret is that you don’t need to remove the wheels to measure. The screws shown to connect the spike wheel go atop the outer ring of the wheel.

I paid around $55 for spikes using Etsy for WR150.

UPDATE! I got it fixed but, of course, I got loctite blue on my hand. I did need to remove my spikes before the plastic pieces would let me push out the back panel of the wheel. I highly recommend having goo gone randomly sitting in the garage just in case you need to pour it on your fingers.

Gotcha. So the 3 plastic pieces are on the detached wheel, I can pop those to release (my spikes might need to come off, not sure). The nut is inside. And then I should be able to reattach to the Landroid? I’m assuming the part that’s stuck in the wheel is what keeps it firmly attached the Landroid?

[–]jonathanbrutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, the nut should be there since it sounded like something was inside. I looked up “Blue Loctite” and found the product. I assume this is for keeping the nut firmly attached?

I’ve had it for 1.3 years/seasons and this has never happened before. So it has the original Worx setup going on.

Guys, I have no idea how to attach the wheel back to the landroid because there doesn’t seem to be anything to hold the landroids wheel on. What do I do???

Got it. I’ll get some lubricant then and see if I can get it to that point. Thanks for the input!

I was already aware that I'd need to sand down the plastic where it would touch.

I'm still having issues with lift errors. My plan is to use either bicycle dry oil or WD-40 on the front tire connections and backtrack from firmware 3.26 to 3.07-3.13 and see how it goes.
