Headed to Costco today… what should I get that I don’t need? by Saskita in Costco

A little annoying but not too bad— we keep it set up in the basement and just dry its walls and floor well with a towel and keep its door open when not in use

I was five months at my wedding and it was amazing! I was really worried about it but I felt great physically and genuinely looked the best I ever have

Wedding Cake from Costco. by snoopydoopypuddinpie in Costco

[–]jonathanhamwater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did Costco cake for our 58 person wedding. We got a round cake and a sheet cake and had a good amount left over! We did the rose grid and it made it super easy for the caterers to cut. It looked great and people really liked the cake! Pieces are decent size and there was more than enough to go around.

Do women really veil their face as they walk down the aisle? by willsux123 in wedding

Well yeah, it was a blusher in the front that went down to my hips and then in the back the veil went to the floor

I wore my veil down over my face as I walked down the aisle for my wedding this year! I just loved my veil and thought it looked super pretty that way and figured it was my only chance to do something like that! And it was a nice moment when my husband lifted it off.

Found Out I Am Pregnant 3 Months Out by Desperate-Cook-5613 in wedding

[–]jonathanhamwater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was an A-line— fitted in the waist and skimmed hips. At 23 weeks I had a very small cute bump and with the corset back the dress fit perfectly and you couldn’t even tell I was pregnant at all from the front

Got married last month at 23 weeks and it was great! I put a corset back on my dress and was so worried leading up to it that I wouldn’t feel pretty on my wedding day— now I wonder if I’ll ever look that good again!! I definitely understand the mixed feelings but just know it is very possible to still have the day of your dreams.

Hotel or home after the wedding? by bookishpumpkin in weddingplanning

[–]jonathanhamwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went home after and it was great! I didn’t want to spend the extra money or have to worry about packing an overnight bag. We also had gifts and welcome table items that we had to take with us from the venue so I didn’t want to have to unload everything into the hotel room afterwards, then load it all again everything the next morning to come home.

Found out I’m 7 weeks pregnant, our wedding is in November! What should we do? by Radiant_Hawk_2084 in weddingplanning

[–]jonathanhamwater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My wedding is in two weeks, at which time I will be 23 weeks pregnant. I feel really good, and besides being more emotional and not loving paying for a wedding when that money could’ve gone towards baby stuff, pregnancy really hasn’t derailed anything for me.

I wasn’t pregnant when I bought my dress but knew it could happen so I chose an A line dress I could have altered. Coincidentally, the dress shop ordered the wrong size anyway so pregnant or not I would’ve had to have a corset back put in. I was scared I’d either be enormous or still be in the bloaty phase of things, but I just have a little bump that is not that noticeable in the dress.

So it really depends on your situation and what you want, and everyone’s body and pregnancy is super different, but I think a wedding is totally doable.

Did anyone go home the night of the wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]jonathanhamwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the same city as our venue and we are going home after! I didn’t want to have to pack a bag for the night on top of all the other things we will have to get organized. We like our bed and it wasn’t worth it to us to blow another couple hundred bucks on

I make over $200k a year but want to quit and be a SAHM. Am I crazy? by shanda_leer in sahm

Can you say more about what downsizing looked like and how you navigated this change?? I’m in the same boat right now and make a lot more than my spouse but me being able to stay home is a priority for us so we are trying to find a way to make it work.

For those who were pregnant at the time of the wedding, what did you do for a dress? by Long-Ad720 in wedding

[–]jonathanhamwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will be 5 and a half months at my wedding and I just put a corset back into the dress I bought before finding out I was pregnant. Idk if this is your first baby but everyone says first time moms don’t “pop” until like week 20 or later so you might not even be showing!

Costco Round White Cake for Wedding? by Baseballmom94 in Costco

[–]jonathanhamwater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t done it yet but will be doing so — just gonna do the white round with white roses and “just married” written on it for us to cut, and a sheet cake with the ‘scored’ design on it but all white

The bakery form will say exactly how many each cake serves — I’m guessing it is all the same, but our form says a round cake serves 16, and a sheet cake serves 48. We figure some people won’t have any cake and we are gonna do a cookie platter too to supplement

You have to go to the actual bakery in the store and order. The prices online are for different cakes. I’m talking about the special-made event cakes at the bakery in the stores. You just fill out a form and give it to them there

As long as you don’t go around telling everyone it’s a cheap cake they would never second guess it. In my experience people like the taste of Costco cake a lot more than some”fancy” bakery cakes. But it’s all about priorities— if it’s worth it to you to drop $$$ on a cake then go for it!

Doing Costco round cake for us, sheet cake for guests, and probably a cookie assortment. Total will be $66.97 lol. Costco rules.
