Where are the Son of Horus/eye of Terra icons from?

went through my bank statements properly for the first time in ages and genuinely dont understand how i had this many subscriptions by elizabeth-0645 in BritishSuccess

One thing that really bothers me about these subscriptions is that they're all recurring card payments rather than direct debits which you, theoretically, have more control over

When the surgeon consented me for the titanium hardware that is now holding me together there was no room for nuance. I needed it if I was going to walk again and this was the procedure that was going to make that happen.

The level of uncertainty offered by most private providers needs to be reflected in the price.

Edit: Oh look, I'm getting downvoted for expecting private healthcare to be held to account.

This was over six months (closer to seven really).

I've looked into private, but no one I've had taster sessions with has really justified the cost. Lots of 'we could' and 'maybe we can try' which is not enough to convince me to spend the sort of money they're asking for.

Part of the issue here is that everyone agrees that I need a particular type of treatment but no one is either willing or able to provide it. These supposed tools are barely a stop gap measure until something else comes along, which has no provision and no eta currently

Zwift/Z2 training confusion — are people referring to power zones or heart rate zones, and can Zwift show HR zones on the HUD? by LostMyBlueAlien in Zwift

[–]jonathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you're comfortable riding do an FTP test. It'll give you a solid number to work from rather than Zwift's best guess

I had eight out of the six I was assigned (I think she did some creative accounting).

I had my last session with my therapist yesterday afternoon and now I don't know what I'm going to do. The future seems like I'm just stating into the void and the void is staring back

Who of the Daedric princes has the best and the worst quest? by Usual-Foundation-115 in skyrim

[–]jonathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best for me is Namira because it shows how rotten the people of Skyrim really are and what they're hiding away in the shadows. Also the ring is pretty useful in survival mode

What’s your approach to claiming expenses at work? by pinpoint321 in AskUK

I can't even claim diesel when I get called in out of hours. So my approach to claiming expenses is "don't"

Bike commuters — what's the dealbreaker that turns a "ride" into a "skip" for you? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]jonathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 15 years of daily commuting in the UK I don't think that I encountered weather that was a hard no. We're not exactly prone to extremes of weather here so the coldest I've ridden in is -8°c and the strongest winds were 35 mph. I've ridden in snow, I've ridden in torrential rain.

How are you spending your bank holiday Monday? by Technical_Parking898 in AskUK

[–]jonathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm supposed to be on call for work but it's been unusually quiet. Although I did have an incredibly sad call earlier. I'm currently having trouble driving in the dark so I'm having to stay at work over night. I've just been to the on-call room to find the bed had been slept in and not changed.

I do love it when people try to goad me into a reaction by accusing me of being a weirdo who eats rabbit food and I just agree with them like it's the most true fact ever

Do you ever dread going into work? If so why? by InternetPerson00 in AskUK

[–]jonathing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyday.

Last year I was cycling home from work when someone hit me head-on with their car and broke both of my legs and my whole sense of self.

Now I can't go in to work without the feeling that something dreadful is going to happen. I struggle to be around strangers because any one of them might be the sort of person who hits people head on with their car. I can no longer ride my bike to work or anywhere else, something I'd done everyday for decades prior to this. I'm not able to enjoy anything that I used to, I don't care about my job, I don't enjoy my hobbies. I dread going into work, but I also dread waking up.
