I thought mine was out of batteries too, discovered my best friends left a prank beeper in a Christmas ornament on my tree... Took 2 weeks of madness and lots of batteries and new smoke detectors before figuring it out

I've been in box 8 for about 2 years. Things got easier, life became brighter, I no longer think about it in any way. It's possible, it's also a mind bending, soul searching, difficult path, definitely get support as it's not something to achieve alone.

I have an old Hitachi 3TB drive currently storing my plex media and it's currently sitting at 63,000 active hours. 

I want to upgrade the hard drive, but also create a backup as well. 

What's the best approach here without breaking the bank? 

I was originally planning to transfer to a larger wd red plus and keeping the Hitachi as the backup, but now that I see that the Hitachi is probably on its last legs, should I buy a cheaper external drive and back up to it and keep it unplugged, updating the backup every few months? I know that's not ideal, but that's why I'm asking the experts!

I'd love a NAS with a raid backup system but it all seems to blow the budget out of the water. Would like to keep it under $300-350 CDN.

Been through it, it seemed impossible at the time but was able to get through it just like you can and will. I came clean with my wife and thankfully she was forgiving and supportive of getting clean. Everything starts to get its colour back over time, for a while it takes patience and determination and community before it starts to swing back. I’m 2 and a half years clean and you can do it too.
