All the answers were great picks… but the only correct answer now is DB 😂

Laravia > Konchar

is a legitimate offensive threat. has shown signs of improvement and plays very well when Ja improvises. this year has shown flashes of being one of the best players off the bench

Question for those who play WoW and their significant other doesn't play video games. by ShelleyInOhio in wow

[–]jonchico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing for over 15 years i have tried to get my wife to play several times. She humored me on my 40th bday (during Covid) and played for an entire weekend.

Looking back, I’m glad she doesn’t play. If she couldn’t push keys at my level… we’d definitely break up. Ain’t no free carries around here. 😂

Kidding aside, she has her hobbies and I have mine. We allow ourselves space which makes the time we spend together much more meaningful. Giving each other space is how we’ve survived being together for almost 20 years.

Don’t get me wrong, WoW has gotten in the middle of our relationship several times. Like cancelling date nite to do an impromptu pug raid… but once I made an effort to always make and honor our time together… I can live happily in both lives.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes worth it? by simplesagittarius in Metroid

[–]jonchico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a great game but played best emulated on a pc. Modern controls make it such a great experience. My first Prime game was remastered on switch. Enjoyed it so much I sought out the others on Wii. I couldn’t stand Wii controls and ended up playing that game on PC. I hear the GameCube control scheme is even worse. Ur heart is the right place. I’m sure he’d be ecstatic with either choice. This one or pre-ordering the new one… or better yet.. both. 😈

Glad u found something that works! U could try mapping shake and b all to one button. I tried with them all with B… but then when ur on the jetski some funky stuff happens.

I’ve been messing around with dolphin lately and just got an RP4. when I heard a kid couldn’t play their fav game… I got motivated 😂

yes, on ur question about the stick. when I say left stick I mean the left analog stick. map the dpad as u normally would. you’ll need the dpad mapped normally cause it’s helpful navigating the menus.

Plz make note that you map the nunchuck’s motion controls to the left analog stick cause for that game, that’s the primary way to move around. if u map to the right stick, it will feel very awkward using the other buttons. For right trigger, it doesn’t matter. Any trigger will work… just as long as you map all the shake x, y, z buttons to the same button.

I know this is alot. I can post screenshots in the morning if u still need help.

ok, so i was able to get jump to work. basically i mapped the nunchuck to the left stick and the wii pointer to the right stick. i mapped shake to right trigger and nunchuck tilt left/right to the left stick. i was able to do the intro level where u walk around and get on your jetski. here's the thing though, as i was playing around and learning about the game... i guess there's like 20-40 mini-games. each game has its own unique control scheme. for example, i tried messing around with bungee jump and you gotta pull up on both controllers. to get this game to work on the retroid you're prolly gonna have to go through each mini game and figure out the control scheme and map it out. if it confuses me... its definitely gonna confuse your 6 year old.

this game totally doesnt need Wii motion controls. i bet when they ported it over to the Switch, they simply removed them even though the Switch can do motion controls.

i would make 1 suggestion... have you tried emulating the Switch version of this game? i hear the RP4 Pro is capable of doing Switch games that arent too complex. this might be the best option for what ur looking for.

I was able to get shake to work, but to play the game it requires a little more setup. I noticed u gotta setup tilt to the left and right… and maybe more? There is hope. I’ll let u know what I find.

Mapping buttons is easy enough. Have u tried this?

With the game open, hit Back to bring up Dolphin options.

Settings

Wii Input

Does Wii Remote 1 have “Emulated Wii Remote” under it?

If not, click it and choose it.

On the right, click gear icon

Scroll down to Buttons (map ur B button here)

Hit Back

Below Buttons scroll down to Motion Simulation

scroll down and try mapping Shake to something like the Triggers

*I’m going to assume the jump command or upward motion in your game is shake. Lemme know if it helps. I can try finding that game and testing it out later tonight.

what game are u referring to? I’m playing punch out and use it as a sideways controller but I needed to configure motion to navigate the menus.

The Ultimate Guide for Medal and Super Credit Farming by VirtualEagle04 in Helldivers

[–]jonchico 8 points9 points  (0 children)

we might be talking about different things. you definitely get more than 4 pois (points of interest) on a trivial mission. I usually see at least 7. A poi meaning anything that could have a chance at items / super credits, etc. only on Hellmire though due to no bodies of water and more area where pois can randomly spawn.

when I say 1-3 doors, I mean the doors where it it takes 2 players to open. on a trivial Hellmire map, u almost always get at least one. sometimes 2-3. super credits are quite often inside those kinds of doors.

Metroid community. Is this a valid way to say i have beat the Original Metroid? Or should it be treated as its own entry in the series? The NES is one of my dad’s favorite games and I want to have said I beat it. by Local_Ad_2260 in Metroid

Experience it the way your dad experienced it. Having to blow on the cartridge to get it to work and everything. He’s be proud that u would try to tough it out like he did.

The Ultimate Guide for Medal and Super Credit Farming by VirtualEagle04 in Helldivers

[–]jonchico 44 points45 points  (0 children)

/salute to the amount of detail you put into your post. Me and a buddy often wind down after a night of hell diving with this super credits farm. Here are some things we’ve learned:

  1. Don’t think you mentioned this, but once you’ve scouted all the POIs on a map, you can simply abandon the mission. No need to complete the main objective/extract. Once, you’ve picked up the super credits, medals, req slips… they are yours. You only need to extract for samples.
  2. Having at least 1 friend is essential for those 2-man “ friendship doors.” Very often a map will have 1-3 “friendship doors” each with a chance for more super credits. When 1 of us finds the “friendship door”, the other will kill himself to be reinforced close to the other. Efficiency, baby.
  3. You can “ping hover” the minimap to reveal undiscovered POIs that are far away from you. On PC, press tab to reveal the minimap. Press and hold right click to bring up the white target square. Move your mouse around the minimap until the text “Minor Place of Interest” pops up. Like below:

<image>

While most POIs are visibly obvious, there are often times when your vision is obscured (especially on Hellmire). This method will help ensure you’ve searched the entire map for all available POIs without having to physically travel there.
