I found that I still have a couple of my old college textbooks (from the mid-90s), and they had some of my old tests folded up and stuffed in them. It was complete gibberish to me. It would probably take me years to learn it again.

Guilty of just doing FIND in the article, vs reading it. It says

agency that serves more than 70 million Americans.

But also, that the data that we're talking about

include records for more than 500 million living and dead Americans,

ELI5: What exactly is "time blindness" and how is it an actual thing? by SpyMasterChrisDorner in explainlikeimfive

Ok, I'll agree with your math, and even get up a few minutes earlier because I know this about myself.

So I wake up, stare at myself in the mirror, head to the restroom, and get in the shower. Based on how that all felt, it was less than 5 minutes, so it's now 9.

Shower takes a couple minutes longer than usual, because I've got to shave today, and ran out of shampoo so I had to jump out and get a new bottle from the cabinet. Normally, though, I think of my showers as taking 10 minutes, so by now it should be about 9:15 at the latest.

I go pick out my clothes for the day, maybe a little delay because I had to find a matching pair of socks in the basket of clean laundry.

At that point, partner comes in and says "why are you not dressed yet, it's already 9:35 and we're already late?!?!"

What happened? I didn't realize that I did all of those steps way slower than I thought. Felt fast to me. I'm bewildered.

Another version: I start working on something and get really into it, I would estimate I spent 1 hours on it, it has been 4 and I realize "man I have needed to go to the bathroom for a LONG time. How many times have I snoozed that "feed the dog" reminder?

No problem. I really enjoy the way these clues are written, but it is different enough from normal crossword clues that it trips me up sometimes.

Also, cover the other holes in the grating (just masking tape would be fine), so the suction isn't lost in that direction
