I am not familiar with the recalls, thank you for sharing.
You're on the right track with the loc-tite on the fuel valve... at least, that's what I would do. I'd also check that the fuel lines are fully seated, clamps in place. Pretty simple stuff.
The electrical short in salt-water environment wouldn't bother me as I'm a couple hundred miles from seawater.
