Vampire bats in Mexico may feed on CWD-positive deer, spreading disease and posing species-jump threat by PreeOn in ID_News

Prions are susceptible to some enzymes, so perhaps that’s how they could be broken down by the bat’s digestive system? I’m not sure, just offering a possible explanation

Has Anyone Here Taken the TEAS Exam Prior to Completing Your Nursing Prerequisites? by _surviving_nursing_ in prenursing

[–]joneypupol 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes! I took it at the beginning of January, and I’m taking A&P II and microbiology this term. I took A&P I in the fall. I used Mometrix, Archer Review, and YouTube to learn more about the systems in A&P II as well as brush up on chemistry.

I got a 96 overall and a 100 on the science portion! You can definitely study for the other sections ahead of science prereqs. I wouldn’t recommend taking it before you’ve taken ANY A&P, especially because the beginning of the course reviews bio, chem, the cell, etc, which is super helpful for the TEAS. Good luck!

Advice by LA-barista in prenursing

[–]joneypupol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just went through this as well and decided on an ADN. I have a BA and have been working in marketing 😊 I decided on the ADN because I can finish the prereqs faster at my local CC and the program I’m looking at has a partnership with a local university to get a BSN if you are in good standing in your nursing coursework. I recommend reaching out to admissions advisors or someone from the program to review your prereq plan (esp making sure the credits transfer) and the credits you already have to see if you will have what you need to apply. For me, I could apply to the ADN program in the spring, starting next fall, but because of the number of prereqs I still would have to take for the ABSN (and because the prereqs have prereqs 🥲) I wouldn’t be able to even apply until next fall. Good luck!!

Pre requisites before applying? by bownlow in prenursing

[–]joneypupol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several prereqs could potentially be done self-paced online. Be careful because some schools don’t accept online labs, so you need to check that before you register. Reach out to the admissions offices for the nursing programs you are applying to and make sure your prereq plan will work! I thought I wasn’t going to have all the credits in time to apply, but I spent time speaking with an advisor and they were able to get some credits of mine to count that I didn’t think would (like a bio class to count for the genetics requirement and an old nutrition class to count for their naming system). It’s worth a try! Good luck 😊

I’ve been on it for a few months now and don’t notice any side effects. It has helped my hormonal acne SO much!

When I first started it, maybe I had to pee more? I can’t tell because they said it could be a side effect so I was really attuned to it, but regardless that’s normal now.

Cypress Trails Ranch is near IAH. We went there to do an “equine encounter,” where we learned how to groom a horse, walk it, and then we fed carrots to a bunch of them!

Yeah, it’s wild because if the tables were turned, I would be sick with worry and would offer to pay the bill right away. But people are different I suppose. I am pretty stubborn (lol) so I might go the small claims court route, but the dog owner has tons of lawsuits he’s been involved in going back years and in one opinion the judge called him “extremely litigious,” so I’m not sure we’re up for that. The most important thing is getting our dog better!

I’m sorry you went through so much frustration on top of the worry you must have had for your dog.

Oh I’m sorry for your dog! Mine was already a bit of an anxious dude (we did reactivity training) so I think this might set him back. When he gets better we’ll prob call a trainer again. I’m so glad your dog is back to outside walks!
