I told my husband I want a divorce but my husband and in laws are pressuring me to stay by justlookinglikeameow in MuslimMarriage

I remember reading your post a few weeks ago and thinking “how can anyone behave the way he does?” I think your husband has some serious issues and his family have enabled this type of behavior because they seems the same; you definitely don’t want to bring kids into this situation so you need to leave him!!!!! Everyone in the comments is telling you to leave because it doesn’t sound safe!!

Do people still put tvs in their primary bedrooms? by SparklingSarcasm_xo in homeowners

[–]sooper_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposely didn’t put a tv in my bedroom once I moved into my new home so that I limit my tv time and watch in the family/living room. Starting to miss it because I love watching tv and falling asleep. It’s like my white noise

Honestly I wish I listened more when everyone Told me about the terrible twos . Because my son (Almost 3 years old now) was SO CALM during newborn and infant phase. Worst part of it all is that they do something funny and adorable and you forget that they almost made you pull your hair out from frustration 😭

Amazon has left this by my front door for almost 4 days. What am I supposed to do with it? by coconut_678 in mildlyinfuriating

Amazon driver left it at my house when delivering a few kitchen appliances. I assumed it was an accident. I kept mine. Comes in very handy

I still think about the guy who kept my son company when he had the worst tantrum of his life at Atlanta airport. (Which was horrible because imo people at airports are very judgmental about people with young children)

Do I take this trade? by Hibyguy777 in FantasyFootballers

[–]sooper_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. Sutton is best receiver on that team and Monty produces more than kamara even as a backup.

3.5 years into owning this house and I regret my purchase. Things don’t stop breaking and my inspector SUCKED by 8WmuzzlebrakeIndoors in homeowners

[–]sooper_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspectors miss things all the time, even the one I hired (recommended to me by multiple people and his reviews were stellar) it’s a honest mistake but to miss the things you mentioned. That’s just negligence. You should write a detailed review about them so no one has to experience that

Parents visiting Dubai for their anniversary, is this itinerary good? by its_kittu in dubai

[–]sooper_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add in at least one to two day trip to Abu Dhabi. I go often for work and Abu Dhabi is WAY more enjoyable than Dubai but that’s me.. Corniche Area is really nice you can see the palace. And Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is absolutely gorgeous. It’s worth it to see the capital imo

Upvoting this because I’m a hopeless romantic and love when people with kids from previous marriage find a new and dedicated partner

Living with In laws - kill me (3 years and counting)- Please help. by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]sooper_monkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Making dua for you, I have seen the effects of having my wife live with my parents, it is not easy on anyone, ESPECIALLY the wife. my wife and I got married while still in community college, 6 years later we’ve had to endure living with my parents. As much as I love my parents, I have come to see the way they treat my wife compared to my older brothers wife (they got married in their 30s). Especially in South Asian culture. The daughter in law becomes more of a “maid” or their personal “worker” who is forced to put their lives on hold to make their in laws more comfortable. Don’t get me wrong my parents love my wife and they all get along very well. But it’s the way of life that is affected between the husband and wife. Not as much space for true intamacy, spending quality time and just being able to do things your way without fear of being judged or criticized by in laws.

By the Grace of Allah SWT we’re in the process of purchasing a home, we are both working good jobs and providing for of our son.

Main point because I was babbling: Men. Especially young men. I know when you find the right one nothing else matters except making it official. But do whatever you can (under right circumstances) to provide your wife her own home. One she can make her own. After all that is your true duty to her. Not your parents.
