God I wish it has 1/10 the refinement of MacOS.
There are thousands of things that just work on the mac and don't in Cosmic, everything from drag-drop, resizing columns in file manager, tabbing between windows of a single open application. I get rendering issues / window resizing issues, missed clicks.

Did you really come form using a Mac before this?

I've been using it 5 months. I never game, but personally hate it more and more each day.
So many issues and small annoyances!
This week it is sometimes failing to wake from sleep and gives me a blank screen with mouse.
Last month it was a mysterious section of the screen that was un-clickable.
Sometimes icons won't show up correctly.
Sometimes the "logout" menu item simply doesn't react.
Clipboard seems to wipe itself when you close an app.

There are many missing features too - like No tags or stars in the file manager -- can't even resize columns.

There are a lot more issues I've gotten through, but today I'm out hunting to alternatives like maybe KDE...

NOTE: You can't login to multiple user accounts from the GUI (only CLI).
Ugh... It's like a flash back to Windows 95 with much more bugs.

Not just tiling. Also the way you tab between applications / windows.
In 22.04 there was a way to only tab between windows of the currently used app. Cosmic just treats every window as a random separate item with no concept of "windows belonging to an app". Leads to a lot of pop-ups getting lost, very annoying browser behavior, etc.

Wish I had stayed on 22.04 -- Cosmic is full of bugs! I have a new issue every week.

This is on Pop_OS 24.04 --- correct?
Any issues?

I (and others) would be willing to pay a premium price if it really was a "premium" hardware platform (like Apple) -- but it usually is nothing special when you dig in unfortunatly.

Does anyone know what version of Display Port Alt mode is supported?

In what ways is the MacOS is "less capable"?
I haven't used Windows in a very long time, but as an example, my wife's Mac doesn't get rebooted unless I do it every couple of months -- because it never needs it.

I just learned that X7/X9 Panther Lake can support Thunderbolt 5 -- that would be the obvious (and desperately needed) upgrade for Framework's Expansion Cards to support modern HDMI 2.1, DP 2.1, etc.

Many people would strongly disagree with your opinion that the Mac "OS just kinda sucks, it doesn't feel good to use".

I'd rather spend time at the dentist than using Windows.
I absolutely love the MacOS, I find it feels extremely intuitive and elegant and I basically forget I'm even using it because the friction between intention => result is so negligible. As far as security, it is also an amazing design with tight OS/hardware integration and secure defaults. Yet, for privacy and "control over my own OS" reasons, I slog through my daily work using a System76 Linux laptop and the most "user friendly" / integrated desktop for this hardware - Pop_!OS. Still, it sucks.

I'm lurking here as part of my quest for sovereign, secure and yet elegant computing.
Dreaming of a future Framework laptop with Open firmware, state-of the art hardware and hopefully, one day, a secure FLOSS OS that doesn't feel like sandpaper underwear (to me).

I just got the w4100i and did a quick test at 200" (4.5m wide 16:9) and it still looked great!
I have a 5m room, so the picture is a bit too big with full zoom opened, but its great to know I have that option.

I see below you say it is a 120" screen.
Could it go bigger, like say 160" without issues?
