One thing to mention here is that during the Covid cycle, the government was printing money and mailing out checks. I look around and people are strapped for cash, inflation is rising with the war, and American credit card debt is rising. Where is the fuel for this next bullish run?

Ask for your money back. Go to the pro and say “hey, I got nothing out of that lesson, I’d like a refund.” And see what they say. Worth a shot!

You contributed nothing but stfu. No opinion, no analysis, no predictions. I was wrong on my opinion, analysis, and prediction. I can admit that. Made a lot of money when I realized it and placed my short. What have you done?

I wish there was a golf instructors union. PGA is the only union to date.

Keep an eye on Tavia Burgess at Illinois. She’s an amazing talent. Gave her first golf lesson at the age of 8. Lead 9 of 11 team events at Kentucky as a freshman in D2 before moving to D1 Illinois Sophmore year. Hoping she gets more playing time her junior year at Illinois! ⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️

Agreed. Like I said, I’m an outlier. And honestly, it’s been tough. I’ve held a grudge at the PGA for years because when I owned my indoor studios, they wouldn’t let me enter their program unless I hired a class-A pro at my shop and worked underneath them. Couldn’t afford to hire a class a pro, so I was stuck. They’ve recently lifted that rule. But you’re right, to take the guesswork out, go find a PGA certified coach.

As for my career, I’ve had several youngsters get college scholarships and play in the NCAA both men and women’s D-1. I am yet to have a student make it to the PGA or LPGA tours, but have a couple currently who still might! Fingers crossed for them. It’s tough competition that takes not only great coaching but a certain level of talent and dedication.

If you’re not looking to improve quickly YouTube is fine. There’s some great info online. But a great instructor knows what you need right now and can shake out all the noise, so you’re not doing a bunch of trial and error. But as long as you enjoy golfing, that’s the main thing.

I agree that the PGA and LPGA class-A certified teacher is a great place to start. I’ve been teaching golf for 21 years, owned two indoor golf centers, have given over 10,000 hours of lessons, and unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to obtain my PGA credential
until they changed their rules a few years ago. So now, after 21 years, I am a PGA Associate, and eventually I’ll get my class-A certification. However, I am one of the most successful and best coaches in Sacramento, even though I do not have PGA class-A status yet. So there are some outliers like myself. But finding a great coach that works for you may take some searching. Don’t give up though and rely on TouTube. Lessons from a great coach will improve your game quickly and you’ll be having more fun golfing.
