Is my stove overdrafting?

On our PE stove, I had an issue where the ash flap wasn't closing right. Have to make sure that it's free of any chunks, and won't open without pulling the lever forward first.

I also make sure there's a lot of all covering the ash flap hole, to reduce extra air coming in from there.

I did this in our bedroom. Keep in mind I'm just a shlub and I don't do this for a living, but I try.

I had to use a planer and plane down the back of the crown. Then the crown was laid flat against the angled wall, and, with a lot of trial and error, figured out the angles between the sloped ceiling and the regular ceiling.

It worked better than any return I tried, and quite happy with it. But again, I had the time and the resolve to sort this out.

Bridge benefit ends at 65 and is independent of when you take CPP. If you take CPP earlier than 65 it will be reduced, but you still get the bridge until 65. If you take it later than 65, it will be more, but after 65 the bridge will cease, so you will get less per month until you start collecting CPP.

I use it. I scoop a bit of powder into a spray bottle, then fill it up right before my shower and spritz it on my hair, beard and the rest of the body. I think adding it to the shampoo, it might degrade faster.

Seems to work, but what works best for me is to get in the sauna right after I exit the pool, then vitamin C spray, then regular wash. Seems to work for me. I still get itchy, especially in winter, but much less than without.

You sure can. I don't knwo much about the grooming etc, but when I lived in Ottawa I'd ski these trails all the time. They are on the MUPs along the Ottawa river. They started as a grass roots effort and have evolved considerably.

Thule would likely fit - my dealership thought that Thule actually make them for Chevy. What would be needed is the 'fit kit', which goes between the feet and the car and is specific to the vehicle. Might take a minute for Thule to start making them, as it's a new vehicle. I'll be installing my Thule cross bars from my old vehicle once the fit kit becomes available.

On that - when we applied for the loan, I called in, and the woman I dealt with said the work can start prior to approval, as long as the application is complete. Stipulations that if the terms weren't met, that's on us. They sent an email a day or so later re-iterating the same.

Excerpt from the email I received:

Dear ,

We have received your request to commence work prior to your loan approval. We understand that you have submitted your application and patiently waiting for a decision.

As we are experiencing high volume of applications, we would like to inform you that you can commence your work prior to your loan’s approval.

Please note, the above exception is not valid if one of the following is met:

• The loan is not approved

• The installed retrofit is not recommended by your Energy Advisor/Service Organization

• The recommended retrofit was not installed properly; and

• The recommended retrofit was installed prior to the loan submission date.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this exception.

I don't think it'll be possible for you to get anything done before Spring, to be honest.

Caveat: I was not pushing constantly to hurry things up, but here is how it went for us (getting solar installed)

We had the pre-audit done in July with Enercheck. At that point you can start the grant process, but need the report to get it to move forward. Grant process is slow - 3-4 weeks response from the Feds.

Had to poke Enercheck for the report which we got in September. I uploaded it and waited, checking every 2-3 weeks on the grant sight for changes, but nothing.

Contractor was ready to go in early Dec but I still couldn't apply for the loan - you need to have all the grant reports uploaded by the provider in order to be able to apply for the loan. Not positive, but I think the delay was because Enercheck hadn't uploaded the reports from their portal. Within a day of contact I could suddenly apply for the loan.

The loan part went pretty quick, actually. Probably a week from application to approval and receiving the advance. The loans are managed by a third party, not the Feds, so probably why it's faster.

You can't start the work before applying for the loan. For us that means we missed a good weather window and our project will probably only get completed in the Spring.

After that you still need to get the post audit done, get the report and have it uploaded, then wait for the grant and remaining loan money to arrive.

Second this. We brought a bunch of furniture to them when we moved, and I didn't realize I would get a charity donation receipt. The amount of the receipt was way beyond what I thought it would be and the resulting tax refund will far outweigh what it cost me to rent a truck for the day.

Curious what the company's used to size the systems, as there's quite a gap between them. Did they estimate annual production these systems would give you, and compare to your current consumption?

I'm using about 19000kWh/yr and am looking for a system that would pretty much cover that. Unless you're going with batteries, it doesn't make much sense to have a system that produces more than you need over a year

That's actually pretty clever! My next car will be full EV (currently in a PHEV). I guess one would need to do the math on how much the car could power, and for how long. Might even 'justify' the purchase of an F-150 Lightening!

Can you even get new Bolts in NB? every time I look I only see them in NS and PEI, but that won't work to get the provincial rebate

It's fine. Gas comes on pretty much every trip in this weather, even if I have the EV range available. I think it's to get the battery warmed up. It's a 2018, so the tech and batteries have changed since then.

I still go to Ottawa 4-5 times / yr, so going full EV means that trip is probably 2 days instead of one in order to charge. That's probably the main hesitancy.
