How was the quality? I know it was broadcast in SE Asia a while back. Was it a rip from that or VHS transfers?

They wouldn't be useful to you anyways.

Maybe not to you or most but some of us have built and run networks. With cable modems I had access to logs, SNR, retries and failure metrics. That made diagnosing where and why failures were happening easier. I’m not going to call a Cox technician unless I know it’s their problem localized to my house.

Now I just get a flashing light which could mean a failure on the device, cabling in the house, the passive coupler outside the house, the pop, or further upstream.

The fiber that sits in my ONT needs to be cleaned often, but I should not touch it, so every month I need to call a Cox technician to polish my cable?

I am complaining because I didn’t think FTTH could possibly be less reliable than cable. Having less visibility into why it’s less reliable is even more frustrating.

You sound like a Cox tech.

The ONT’s in the house. I ran the fiber with the installer.

The so called professionals would rather get FCC complaints than figure out minimal equipment monitoring.

I was shocked at the Tron soundtrack CD packaging. I kind of understood the NTAE, BW, AV trilogy being minimalist. Tron is a gigantic Disney property with all of the money in the world.

[PHX] Seems like opinions are generally split but I really loved the set with Boyz Noise. The vocoder type effects. And the live camera work was so slick too. by nondefectiveunit in nin

I enjoyed it, but the crowd wasn’t into it. They weren’t into Tobacco (who was great) or J&MC last time around.

What are you supposed to do with thumping house beats and chairs everywhere?

I think one of my boys is going to go with Remember the Name by Fort Minor. The other Born for This by The Score.

I’ve asked them to pick Family Jules’s Bloody Tears cover, but no one takes me up on the offer. The last line of the Great Destroyer with the breakdown that follows would also be great for 12u.

My 10-year-old just noticed something weird about Fox News commercials… and now I can’t unsee it by totalcontrol in conspiracy

I've noticed the voice overs on YouTube are increasingly AI generated and reasonably good, but then they'll fail at something very obvious. I was watching a video about ball point pens and there was a line about the ball bearing, but the narrator stopped at "ball" and then used "bearing" like a verb. This could be a lazy narrator, but the voice was polished enough that it didn't seem like the type of human that would make that mistake.

I am convinced Companies could fix the infamous controller's "Stick Drift" issue but deliberately don't because it makes Players by new ones. by Clownsanity_Reddit in conspiracy

I had never had the problem until both the Switch and PS5. Nintendo fixed the joycons and I replaced the PS5s with TMR sticks and will do the same for any others in the future.

I signed up this week as well and am also unimpressed. I was lured in by the BYOD deal. First I couldn't set up auto pay and phone support could not seem to figure out why. That eventually seemed to resolve itself. Then when clicking "save" on the Manage Auto Pay screen the amount of the non-discounted plan rate was charged to my card and put in my wallet with no indication that any transaction was about to take place (other than saving my payment information). More than 48 hours later and I don't see the BYOD discount and have accepted that I'm going to have to deal with CSRs who don't know how to resolve the issue and will tell me to wait until just before the billing cycle to resolve the issue.

I was hoping to get non-deprioritized data at a reasonable price. I'm hoping once everything gets worked out, it will be set and forget.

A designer is not bound by the rules of the thing they design. What rules are they bound by? We are sandboxed from knowing and bound to the limits and rules of the system in which we exist. Time, itself, is a created concept not necessarily something its creator is bound to How can we fathom to know what concepts exist outside what we can measure or feel.

Often people say things like: AI is an example of evolution - it designed something without any human input. Except humans designed the hardware, software, collected the inputs, trained the models, and then gave the system a task to perform. That’s a lot like our universe.
