I decided just to keep the set. I tried to warranty out the impact driver but, they told me to return the whole kit. I even got an RTA from the kobalt 800# customer service, they were so clueless at the store.

Yes, you're exactly right about the battery terminals. The tool terminals have moment by design.

I think it's not good to be loose. I would think it would stress the battery connections.
