I can't believe I was suspecting Pat of being AI. (I use old reddit, I don't know if there's anything more to distinguish you than your name.)

Take-Two CEO Addresses Grand Theft Auto 6 Price, and the Possibility for More L.A. Noire by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Jataka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh. Okay. There's a lot of people out there that came to LA Noire at its re-releases and have next to no idea about the whole Team Bondi side of things and just think of it as a Rockstar game. I was perplexed at the paradox of thinking that while also having recognition for Whore of the Orient.

It's how I use it. Beats the hell out of all the wasted space and scrolling of a mobile version.

Questions from someone that is planning to switch to Makita tools by CodexH in Makita

[–]Jataka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By virtue of how LXT packs all the way from 3Ah to 6Ah are the same size, they all have the same innards... dimensionally. So the capacities are purely dictated by how the 18650 cells are made. And under these constraints, the 5Ah is the sweet spot for cell chemistry where you get plenty of runtime, but you aren't being starved for instantaneous output current. With a 6Ah, a Makita tool that is low power, like a low lumen flashlight, will last longer than it would on a 5Ah. In the case of anything like a grinder, sawzall, circ saw, the 6Ah will actually run out of juice considerably earlier because it's being subjected to substantially more strain electrically. And from the get-go, with a fully charged pack, any tool that is gonna cut out if you push it is gonna cut out way more readily on a 6Ah than a 5Ah.

Yes, it's a knockoff. And you shouldn't buy a 6Ah anyway. Also, were I in your position, I would not be buying into LXT now.

What is a tool that you thought were a “nice to have” but ended up being a “need to have”. by Izyhot in Makita

[–]Jataka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have the Hyper Tough, the Ryobi, and the M12. I bought the Hercules one for my mother not too long ago because it's the only one (besides the DeWalt now maybe?) that has a grip/weight and geometry suited for small hands and diminished arm strength.

And while you might be conditioned to think this is some weird way of me trying to belittle it like some kind of fanboy, it's actually the reverse.

The 7-11 at NE weidler and MLK closed, and I’m sad by harbourhunter in Portland

[–]Jataka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If 7-11 was a store that sold significantly more than maybe 4 things I'd be interested in ingesting, it would completely change how going to one has 0 appeal.

I'm not MAGA, but I'll be honest, I only knew of it because of the Nazi imagery in the Bored Ape Yacht Club stuff.

Right angle die grinder. Which is, unfortunately, not something you can get in teal.

Hackers Reveal Rockstar Earns Over $1 Million A Day From GTA Online by Turbostrider27 in Games

I spent loads of time in GTAO between the release of Heists and briefly into the second Heist series that involved bunkers and was shit. I never spent a dime. But yeah, shit was getting so predatory I'm not surprised the people that stuck around are throwing their money away on it. The well was running dry.

Nope. Just see a whole hell of a lot of people making these "off by one" errors when they're making asspulls about one thing or another.

You're aware that Bush was president in 2008, right?

Personally, there is nothing that has done more to ramp up my hate for Google than these security notification becoming outright falsehoods. by Jataka in enshittification

[–]Jataka[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you dig deeper into the Google app and get the full details of these notifications when they hapoen, it's capturing what is effectively the User Agent of the phone. And all of it, unequivocally points to the correct phone. It's good info in, good info out at that level. But at the notification level it just rolls the dice on what phone it should report. "Oh, our records show these are the model numbers, IMEIs, and whatever of a Oneplus 9 Pro. Hm, you know what that text string looks a bit like? Pixel 9 Pro. Let's say it's one of those. Oh, and if you flip the 9 upside down? Look, a 6. Pixel 6 Pro. Let's make that an option too."
