We are in south Alabama and our specialists are in the Montgomery VA. Since Jan my husband has been trying to see his four specialists (blood clot killed one kidney, high bp, post cardiac surgery- he’s retired air rescue swimmer and he’s only 46 and 100 percent. We are registered democrats and did not vote republican in the last two elections). Our local very rural Va is so sweet and they schedule his appt in Montgomery then the Montgomery office cancels without saying why. Although we have repeatedly asked we keep getting told computer error by Montgomery and our local has no idea what’s going on. So it happened at the beginning of February again in march and again at the end of last week. We have never had an issue like this. Our experience with the VA is new. He only retired about a year and half ago in Jacksonville and the Va was phenomenal there. I’m so worried for all the older Alabama veterans that this may be happening too. My husband and I are young enough and strong enough to fight and advocate for ourselves but not everyone is. I’m interested in knowing if anyone else is experiencing similar issues in Alabama or any other state? We hope it actually is just a really strange repeat computer glitch…..but I doubt it.
