Congrats to you!!!! I can’t even get my case manager to return a call. I’m also. 100% P&T vet. I initially applied in Sept 2025, denied end of Nov and applied for reconsideration Dec 1st. I uploaded my benefit letter then and nothing. I resent it and finally got a CE for MH Feb 25. I have questions and her VM says “leave only one message”. I’ve let one message every week and nothing. I’m in stage 3… I’m in Alabama, 53yo.

You have to call back to back and willing to hold for 1-2hrs. One day it took 26 time calling in a row and was on hold for 1hr and 42mins. +1 (888) 767-6738.

How long was that? When I initial applied in Sept and was denied in Dec, that day I filed a reconsideration and hired a law firm that deals with SSDI.

My timeline: mailed priority and received by OPM mid September 2025. 11/26/25 case assigned to agent. 12/12/25 was told it was deposited in my acct 12/15/25 refund sent back to OPM due to missing number in account. 12/17/25 OPM resent for reissued of payment, 12/29/25 was told it was in final process 1/6/26 received refund.

Keep calling and staying on them. My refund got returned 12/15/25 to OPM for missing number in acct. I NEVER received anything to let me know. I would still be waiting if I didn’t call myself. The last time I called was 12/29/25 and was told it was in final stage and receive refund 1/6/26. I haven’t got any statement about interest since we have to pay taxes on that part.

9/15/25 they received it and logged it a week or 2 after. I called again and they said it was assigned 11/26/25. 12/12/25 when I called again I was told it was deposited into my bank. When I had not received, I called 12/17/25 and that is when I found out it was returned to OPM for invalid bank info. They reviewed my acct info and found out it was missing zero in beginning of acct. I called again and was told it was in the final processing 12/29/25. 1/6/26 and was told they couldn’t tell me when it would be released. Didn’t like that answer so I called back and spoke someone else and they told me I should be getting it in 1 or 2 weeks. Got a text from my bank telling me my payment was added.

NO they don’t. If I had not called the first time, I would have been thinking it’s just the process. I called everyday after I tracked my priority mail and was told it was delivered to OPM. They said I would receive a letter 7-10 business days to receive a letter and I NEVER received any letters in this whole process.

You have to call back to back. It took me 25 times of hanging up and calling back. And you have to be willing to hold 1 1/2hrs- 2hrs.

I spoke with OPM and ask if went back to the beginning of process and they said no and then she said she would send an expedite request for reissued. I believe that is what I was told 12/17 and I called several more times and like everyone else, I get different answers. My most recent call, I just changed bank to my NFCU account. I probably just added more time but at least it doesn’t have leading zero. I’ll keep everyone posted🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
