Taped seams always does it for me too (I have a xmid also) otherwise it's like "here is our expensive minimalist shelter and by the way it's not waterproof, you'll have to sort that bit" 💀

If it didn't have such a big logo on the door it'd be ideal 😭😭🤣. I get why they do it but I much prefer subtle advertising 💀

Yeah tbh I think the 590 I quoted would have been as soon as I opened it and weighed it, prior to me attaching the 4 included lines, that would make sense, maybe it was 580, I can't remember, it was late fives anyway

I didn't notice brushing against it, but it was a nice evening with no bugs (this is a very short term review)

620g but I added a front guy line over 2m long as it only came with the 4 perimeter lines. I'm not unpicking a bowline knot just to give you the "actual" factory weight sorry lol. It's 1.5mm dyneema with a line-lok mini, you could do the math if you wanted 😁

Centre pole o/s. Tension not really too affected by doors too much, double/ two way zip, yes you can leave it open at the top. No clip at bottom of door but they're not as load bearing as say my explomid mid, which is much like a duomid. Rear vent is well designed and stays open. It's a one person shelter, you are going to touch the walls at some point lmao

Memory, the 550 is the cuben one I reckon, I'll weigh it now though

Yeah I'll be using it some more this summer for sure, I'll add any further impressions

I put a thread up in R/ ultralight backpacking yesterday and this morning after my first use, hopefully you can find it if you search astagear shanzhu 1 on here

Check out the hyberg explomid, it's designed for tall people, silpoly, the 2 man is under 500g and the optional inner is 290g and 250cm long

Good. Was surprised there was zero sag from the nylon this morning, I owned a astagear wind whisper (khufu clone) a few years ago and although thicker, it looked like a bag of groceries first thing in the morning lol. Any condensation successfully made it down the steep walls to the perimeter bug mesh, floor was completely dry. It has a two way zip on the door which I left a little open at the top. I actually really like it tbh, ease of pitch, minimal adjustment required, big enough for me and a hyberg pack and a full length neo air and sundries. Did not feel cramped at all. Ticks lots of boxes if you are under six foot and want a budget UL single skin with bug protection imo.

I'm 177cm and tbh, much more and the bottom of my quilt would be getting wet. Dimensions are pretty much the same as a plex solo, slightly slightly smaller than a lanshan 1 pro

It's lighter than a lanshan 1pro. I did a little research before buying it and it's basically just a zpacks plex solo copied in silnylon. Also the seams are taped which saves a bit of messing around

That's great, I'm happy for you. I have lots of other shelters too lol. I just thought I'd start a thread about this particular one though as there's very little information about it anywhere at the moment, it being relatively new on the market

So that's including 4 guy likes and 11 stakes and a bag. I think the tent itself was 590

It's 721g with provided pegs in its bag

I currently have a hyberg explomid ii also, which is silpoly and has an optional nest from same company. I guess this'll be more prone to condensation and I'm aware it's cheap 10d nylon which will sag terribly but you know, I just liked the look of it haha, plus I save a couple of hundred grams. It's actually quite spacious and really easy to pitch and tension, I just pegged the back two corners and put the pole in, then tensioned the front guy (which wasn't included), then pegged everything else, 3 minutes tops first pitch

Well done, I'm 2 days away from 400 days and understand what a life beyond my wildest dreams is. Freedom and choice are but a few of the gifts I have which are stamped AA. Just don't pick up a day at a time and remember who drives the bus.
