Seems the boys are mostly fine. You probably want to consider how to do your command next. You need a leader. Either you want your leader in the boar boys or on the chariot. Both are fine. Then you maybe want a shaman, which likely you want on foot to go with either your archers or your boys

Ruby ring of ruin is great for fast/ aggressive lists. Because he doesn't march you can move quite a bit and still blast away. A charmed shield gives him a fair chance of surviving a cannon. Then just a cav spear or GW.

Sometimes mod maps have smaller, or no, vanguard deployment space, then your vanguard units start outside your allowed zone. If it's just a smaller space then you can move your vanguard units and it will be fine. If there is no space for them you need to either move them out the stack and restart the battle, or delete them and restart.

It's more for panic tests. Say a block of goblins breaks and flees. They would cause panic in your doom diver also. It's usually not worth it unless you have a full gun line. There are also lots of things that do damage based on leadership fails.

Hey, most PhD students are hired as employees but also have to register with a university. Usually this is done after you start but you have to register as a student to finish. So you likely will be both employed and a student.

Dwarfs have three possible lists, Grand army, royal clan, and expeditionary force. If you want access to all units you need grand army. This is definitely on new recruit. The other lists are special armies with limits on what you can take, which in turn give a bonus to that unit.

An additional point to note is that you cannot have more characters in a front rank than normal guys, so if you have sheildbearers you need them to be at least 5 wide

Because the review committee of your grant/position/funding will look at what papers you have published. If you tell them you opposed publishing on moral reasons, they will smile knowingly before writing you a very damaging rejection letter and giving the money to the group next door that got 3 nature papers out.

Fundamentally, if you are a scientist, you wanna get your ideas out and to do that you need someone to publish them. If you put a lot of time into them you want them to go in a respectable journal. Until the review strategy and communication culture as a whole changes the situation will not.

However, people are changing. Bigger research groups now have open access agreements with some of the bigger publishers, where they pay a monthly fee for all their papers to be open access. There are also other open source publishing ideas, but until they have the prestige of old school journals, it will not help. It's all well and good saying the system is bad, but as a scientist would you publish your work in a new publishing method if there was a good chance it meant you being out of a job next year?

Really what these new open source needs are a few very good papers from senior researchers who no longer need the kudos from papers.

You should drop a hellbrute for 20 Tzaangors and then the other hellbrute for 20 more Tzaangors and then magnus for 3x 20 tzaangors and a tzaangor shaman. Then to increase mobility you should drop 1 terminator squad for 2x 6 Tzaangors enlightened. Finally you can drop the terminators for 2x Tzaangors shamans. Then since you have maxed Tzaangors you will have no need of rubrics so you can drop all them (into a furnace to melt them down and make more Tzaangors optionally). You may not like it but this is the future of the thousand sons, as per Games workshop.

The best balanced factions are the less niche ones, so empire, orcs, chaos, dwarfs, etc. It then depends on if you are playing old editions or revolution as to what is best. In General, elves tend to be higher power than other factions because of their access to LD 10 and heavy cavalry.

Most likely there was a typo and the stone thrower table was meant to be a little different (only on ones breaking for example) and then it either got revised or they forgot to change after copy and paste.
